Mia's POV

I almost fall as I open my eyes and land in the room. My breathing spikes as my heart races. He almost saw me and I know I have over stepped the boundaries. Two days with taking care of him and two days of feel like things were normal. I missed him and it only made getting over him harder. I look around and no one has bothered me yet.

"Mia!" Spoke too soon. My father barges in and stops as he sees me standing in the middle of the room. I try to hide my heavy breathing as he examines me.

"Mia why have you locked yourself in this room? You have duties remember! Two days worth of people waiting to see the Gailbrum court and I walk in there and see that it has not been bothered with because you want to mope around locked in your room!"

"I haven't been moping around I just needed some time to think without people begging at my feet every second!"

"Think? Think about what? Or should I say who. Why do you waste your time on him? He lied to you for god sake get over it! You meant nothing to him nothing at all! All he saw was a dollar sign tattooed on your forehead!" I take a step back as he's gone too far.

"You don't understand, I can't help it. I've tried everything to get rid of him in here." I point to my head and heart. "You don't understand the pain I feel the pain I have to keep hidden because if I let everything go I look weak. I am weak I need him just as much as I hate him for hurting me." I kneel to the floor no longer able to stand.

"I want to believe he is hurting but I have no trust. He cries and I can hear it; every night of everyday. I want to be able to see something without the thought of him entering my mind. I've tried everything, I've even tried to keep him locked away in the crystal ball." Through my blurry vision I see father look back and I know I ran my mouth too long.

I race after him as he enters the room. He uncovers the glass globe and looks at me. He turns away and he starts to tilt the stand. "Father stop!" I can only stand and watch my secret world burst into a million pieces at my feet.

"No more! He was a useless peasant!" He shouts and I stare at the broken part of what helped get through the day. "Now fix yourself up and look like a damn queen! You have 5 minutes Miabella before I really get angry." I flinch as he slams the door and I bend down to the pieces.

"No no no!" I try to use every bit of power to connect the broken glass but nothing moves. I pick up a piece and hiss as the sharp edges cut my palm. I look as the skin heals it's self. I stand and open the doors.

"Lily!" I yell and anger is evident.

"Ms. Gailbrum." I stomp back to the room and slam the doors shut.

"Get me ready."

"Yes ma'am." She rushes to the wardrobe and pulls out a black long slim dress, not the usual large ball gown. It has lacey long sleeves. She tightens the corset and has me step into the beautiful dress.

She steps back waiting for my next command. I push open the doors and she tries to keep up with me as I race to the court room. As I sit on the large chair I glare at the staring members and they look away.

"Bring them in." A skinny middle age man walks in, chained at the feet and hands.

"He has beaten a woman and child." I look up from the boring trance and listen to the charges against the man.

"What is the conclusion of the woman and child?" I stand and have Lily follow me as I walk towards the devilish man.

"The mother of the child has been emitted to the infirmary with," he clears his throat and I know it is bad. "With a broken pelvis my queen," he did more than beat her. "The child has lashes that her body cannot heal herself." I stand toe to toe with him and he has a grim smile.
