Chapter 8

In the 3 weeks after Salus was captured, things have been quiet. In all his spare time he has been practicing his newfound abilities, learning to pick things up with the force and throw them, but only for short periods of time. He has also become very proficient in his Lightsaber Combat, thus he and his squad have grown together to be more then just a squad, but a family.

Salus and Lyla have even begun a relationship together. The crew of the Golden Blood have even upgraded the ship with a better hyperdrive, Reactor, and shield generator. Salus was in his quarters practicing his skills before receiving a call to head to the bridge. He put his lightsaber on his belt and went to the bridge. When he got there, the entire bridge crew was doing their jobs and a few high ranking officers along with Lyla were sitting around a map of the galaxy.

"Lieutenant, please, come here so we can fill you in." Lyla said with a smooth tone. "As you know, we lack a proper base of operations, but that changed today. We've learned of a planet that used to house a Jedi Temple, and that the empire doesn't patrol. It is known as Ossus. You and your Squad will head there and secure the Temple so we may use it as our new base." Said a General.

"Yes, sir." Salus replied.

"You may leave when ready." Lyla told him. He let the bridge and saw his squad already ready in their Fighters and preparing to leave. "He arrives, your X-Wing is fueled and loaded up, you ready to move out?" Jaxxon said with a smile.

"Who's in charge here: me or you? Anyway, let's move out, they are counting on us to get into the Temple and make sure it is secure." Salus climbed into his X-Wing and prepared it for launching. When he was given the all clear signal, he took off and left the hanger. He then punched the coordinates for Ossus in and engaged his hyperdrive. Let's hope this place does more than just be a base for us. Then he jumped to Hyperspace.

An hour or so later, he and his squad emerged from Hyperspace in orbit of Ossus. "Alright, let's move in on the Temple and set up the beacon." They all went at full speed into the planets atmosphere and straight for the Jedi Temple, and landed outside the Temple and disembarked.

"How many relics do you think we will find in there?" Vanessa wondered.

"I hope a lot, Jedi Relics would be of great use, what do ya think boss?" Jaxxon said, as jokingly as ever.

"I just hope this place will help us out against the empire" Salus then went up to the door and used the force to open it. When it opened they went inside and saw a deserted, worn out grand hall. "You guys go and try to reactivate the communications, I'm going to look around."

"Yes, sir!" His squad shouted. Then he went to what used to be the Library to look for anything that could help him understand his abilities, but heard a crashing noise inside the room. He pulled his Lightsaber out and ignited it.

"Who's there? Come out and I will not hurt you."
