"Brother? I'm back." Miki shook me awake.
I rubbed my eyes and yawned. Wondering what time it was.
6 pm.
"Why are you ba-AH!"
I couldnt believe my eyes. Miki was covered in bruises and dirt, one cute on her forehead.
"Who did this to you?!" I panicked and shot up.
Miki took a seat on the couch as I went to get bandages and disinfection.
"Well, I was walking home and for some random reason a few girls who were 3rd years at the school cornered me for some reason. They pushed me around for awhile and gave me this cut." She paused. "Then this weird guy came out of nowhere and grabbed my arm, thankfully Kaede came to the rescue."
I looked over from the kitchen as I took out a caprisun and heading towards her, handing Miki the drink.
"How did she come to the recue?"
"Well, she managed to get get a hit at him with a rock in the back of the head. Then when he tried to attack us I screamed for help, thankfully people came, though the he escaped before the police could get there."
I grabbed the disinfectant and cleaned up the scare I'm her cheek.
"Well, I'm gonna have to thank her." I smiled. "You should go take a shower before I put bandages on you. Meanwhile I'll clean your uniform." I hugged her.
"Thank you."
---
"Brother, you have to go to school today." Miki shook me.
I sat up and looked at her. She was all in her summer uniform.
"Miki, you should wait a while more to put that on." I got up.
"I would but my other uniform is still drying." She smiled a began heading towards the door. "Plus, it's already May, Brother."
She closed the door behind her, leaving me in silence.
"It's May...?" I grabbed my phone and turned it on to check the date. "Tommorows gonna be the 1st."
I looked out the window by my bed. "It's been a month already."
---
"Nagisa, goodmorning." Kaede said in a cheery voice.
I jumped slightly in my chair and looked at her, something was different.
Her hair was down.
"Goodmorning..." I smiled at her, awkwardly trying to bring up her appearance. "Yo-your hair looks nice like that."
Kaede flustered up, most likely out of surprise.
"You think so?" She grabbed a strand of her wavy hair. "Thank you."
I smiled at her. A few seconds of silence before I remembered yesterday.
"Uh, Kaede," I said, standing up awkwardly. "My sister told me about yesterday and I wanna say... thank you, if there's anything you need I'll be happy to oblige."
Kaede looked at me. "Oh yesterday! Well, you're welcome..." She smiled. "And when you mean anything, you mean, anything?"
I stared at her blankly, wondering what she was thinking of.
---
"Kaede!" I whined as filled the basket with all different types of sweets. "It's been 2 hours can we just leave?"
She threw 2 more sweets in. "We only have to find one more pudding and we're done. And you don't get to complain you said anything." She smiled and picked up five cups. "Found it. Let's go."
"Kaede, I didn't think you'd ask me to do this though. I'd rather do something else with you." We went to the check out.
"Like what?" She asked while the man quickly scanned the food.
"Well, I dunno like making me but you I've cream or let you play with my hair, or-"
"That'll be 5600¥ please." The young man said.
"Oh right." Kaede smiled at him and got out her wallet.
After a minute the transition was over and we were out of the store. The sun was setting with winds blowing through.
"Or what?" Kaede picked up on our conversation.
I looked away. "I dunno, anything but this."
Kaede walked up to me, and with her skinny arms she hugged me. "Well, I'm sorry that I made you do something so painful. Exactly like being in a life endangering situation like I was in the previous night."
"Mm... I'll shut up."
She let go of me, showing me her happy face. "Thanks... can I have an other favor please?"
I stared at her. "Mmm?"
"If like to hang out with you on the weekend, alone."
My cheeks went a little red and I had an immediate answer.
"Okay."
