Marinette sat in her room, sitting at her desk watching the full moon. She was so tired, all she wanted to do was sleep, but Chat Noir never showed up, he has never missed a battle. He has never missed patrol either, than all of a sudden, he doesnt show up for both? If he left town for whatever ever reason, he should have told her. He WOULD have told her. She sighed trying to think of anything he said to give her an idea where he might be. In the back of her mind, the worst possibility sat there. She kept telling herself 'no' it couldn't have happened, but its the only thing that kind of makes sense. Hawk Moth couldnt have taken his ring. Could he? And if he did, when? And what will he do now?

She got up and started pacing the room, why couldnt he have just showed up? Her heart ached, she worried for her missing partner. Her heart tingled as she thought of him, but why? Why is she worrying so much? It could easily but a little misunderstanding. A part of her knew that, its nothing and shes over thinking it. But yet, she still worries, yet her heart still is sinking in her chest. "Tikki!" Marinette said quickly. Tikki flew up quickly from her deep sleep and looked at Marinette.

"We have to go find Chat Noir, he has to be here somewhere." She said looking out the window, in the town of Paris. She needed to see him. "He'll show up soon Marinette, he probably left for personally reasons for a few days and didnt have time to tell you." Tikki said yawning. Marinette knew that was a possibility, but she couldnt get him out her head. It was getting too much to just sit and think about. She needed to do something. "We need to do something Tikki, we cant just sit here and hope its nothing." Marinette said pleading with her eyes.

"Fine, if it makes you feel better." Tikki smiled. Marinette's heart felt a bit of relief, and excitement. "Tikki, Spots On!" She said. Ladybug stood in her room looking out at the full moon, ready to search for her partner.

He quietly walked out the back door, trying to not cause too much noise. Once outside he ran to the back gate before anyone could notice and stop him. He felt uneasy in his room sitting there. He needed to be Chat Noir again, he felt empty without it, without Plagg. His heart ached thinking of his missing friend. He walked in the cold night to the park. It was empty, of course. He looked around the ground by the fountain, just to make sure it was really gone. No sign of his ring anywhere, he sighed and sat on the ground, his back against the fountain. He messed up so bad, and no matter what he did it will forever be gone. Chat Noir was no more. He was no more.

It was finally sinking in, the realization that he was no longer Chat Noir, he was no longer the hero of Paris, no longer Ladybug's partner. Hes just like everyone else now, just another high school kid who needs protection from Ladybug. He started shaking, and not from the cold. He felt the knot in his throat and the tears building up. He was never going to see Plagg ever again, his last words to him were, "Itll be fine, if i need it ill come over to get it quick, and ill put it on right after." What was he thinking? Taking it off, he couldnt be more stupid. His best friend was gone, and he is never ever going to be that close to Ladybug again. Flirt with her with so much confidence. Or even flirt with her for that matter. Again, now hes just like everyone else. No special place with her. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He kept saying to himself.

Ladybug jumped from roof to roof, searching for her black kitty, hoping he'll see her from his window then coming running to clear up this whole mess. At first she was mad, more than mad, but now, shes just hoping hes alright. She felt the urge to just yell his name, screaming around Paris until he shows up, but she knows she cant do that. She felt like crying, she wanted to see him more than anything, she was worried sick and so far shes had no luck finding him.

Thats when she saw her blond, green eye friend. The love of her life. Her heart skipped a beat seeing him sitting there. His head was down, he was upset. She swung down there. She hid behind an alley, should she go as Ladybug, the hero of Paris or Marinette,or his friend? She shut her eyes and the suit vanished. She walked into the park, he looked up at her shock on his face. Thats when she realized Ladybug could easily explain why she was out so late. Not Marinette.

"Marinette? What are you doing here?" He asked. She sat beside. "i couldnt sleep. You?" He shrugged. "Same here i guess." Was this about the ring? Is he really this upset about losing it? His friend must understand it was an accident and he didnt mean to lose it. Or maybe, his mom gave it to him and thats why its so important. "Are you alright?" It was a stupid question, she knows that but what else is there to say? "No, not at all. I messed up everything." He said talking more to himself than Marinette. She opened her mouth to say something but he cut her off. "Im so sorry Marinette. I shouldnt have let you go off on your own. I dont know what i was thinking." He said looking into her eyes. She smiled, "Its fine, im fine now so it doesnt matter. Plus, i should be thanking you, you did help Ladybug i hear. So i kind of owe you for saving me." She saved him, she knew that but she wanted to make him feel better, cheer him up.

"Youre a good friend Marinette." He smiled. She felt the blush raising to her cheeks but the night hide her blush. "Youre a good friend too. One of my best friends." He smiled. He looked deep in her eyes, seeing the sparkle in them. He felt the skip in his heart for a second. The minute he did, he turned away. That was weird, his not suppose to feel that way. Not with Marinette, no, only with Ladybug. It felt like a betrayal, even though she doesnt feel the same about him, it felt wrong, it felt guilty, he shouldnt feel this way toward anyone else but Ladybug. He needs to find his miraculous and fast, he needs to be Chat Noir and talk to Ladybug. He stood up quickly. "We should go, before someone notices we're gone." He helped her up and she smiled. He walked her home, and they smiled and talked, laughed. He felt the butterflies in his stomach, and he hated himself for it.
