The next day, we both thanked the elderly couple for letting us stay in their small cottage for the night then left afterwards. I was extremely thankful to Sasori for looking for a place to stay at. It was a bright morning so we resumed walking together.

"May I ask you a question, Sasori?", I asked out of the blue, not bothering to take a glance at him.

"You're already asking me but go ahead.", He said nonchalantly.

I huffed, "Is it true that you can't feel emotions?"

"Who told you that?"

"Deidara"

He didn't respond for a while so I stole a quick glance at him and noticed that he looked quite upset. Maybe I shouldn't have asked him that, he might pour out his anger on me. I took a step farther from him in case he yells at me or something.

"That brat...", He grumbled as he clenched his fist and unclenching them afterwards. Later, he noticed that I was already walking meters away from him so he stopped in his tracks.

"I'm not angry at you, Y/N.", He assured me. "Just don't listen to that brat when he's talking about me."

I unknowingly raised both my eyebrows and responded, "So does this mean that you can actually feel emotions?"

"Y/N...", He trailed off, "I have a puppet body but I still have my heart. It's the only still-living part of my body."

"What's with that look on your face?", Sasori asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

I realized that I was looking at him in disbelief and amusement since he confirmed that he could actually feel human emotions. For some reason, I felt a little joy inside of me after he told me that. I just didn't know the reason why.

During our travel back to Akatsuki hideout, we both talked and conversed like ordinary people. He didn't raise his voice at me nor lost his patience since yesterday. For once, I actually enjoyed talking and spending time with him. And to top it off, this was our longest conversation.

"Did Deidara really do that?", I rapidly covered my mouth to stifle my laugh. Yes, we were still talking until now.

"Yes, the brat actually did that. That's why the leader got angr-"

His sentence was cut short when we both heard a familiar voice yelling from a distance. "Y/N! Danna!"

Speaking of the devil, Deidara ran towards us and as soon as his eyes landed on me, his expression somewhat changed. However, he shrugged it off and smiled at me. I was just so engrossed in my conversation with Sasori that I didn't realize that we were already outside of the hideout.

Sasori heaves a quiet sigh and leans over to my ear, "I'll go ahead inside and talk to the leader. Stay here with Deidara."

I nodded my head at him and watched him leave. It's sad that he already left, I actually wanted to talk more. Later, I heard someone cleared their throat so I looked over my shoulder and remembered that Deidara was still here. I muttered a quick apology to him and decided to listen to what he was going to say.

"So...how's your first mission with Sasori-danna? Hn?", He asked shyly, not bothering to look at me.

Out of happiness, I immediately engulfed the blond man in my arms and squealed like a teenage girl. I had no idea why I was acting like this but all I could say is that I'm really happy.

"Dei! For once, he didn't get mad at me! I actually enjoyed his company.", I screeched, making Deidara flinch.

"Oh that's really nice, Y/N-"

I gave him a quick kiss on his cheek and happily skipped my way towards the hideout. Okay, I should definitely calm down. I'm already overreacting and if I keep this up, the other members would be suspicious of me, especially Pein.

While I was about to walk into my room, I spotted a familiar redhead walking out of Pein's office. My legs began walking themselves towards the said man and as soon as I reached him, I gave him a small smile.

"So do you still hate me? Are we friends now?", I asked him as I stared at the ground due to embarrassment.

I slightly raised my head to peek at him and noticed that he was just openly staring at me. Moments later, he began chuckling and seeing him do so made the butterflies in my stomach flutter.

"Sure thing, Y/N. We can be friends.", He said, "But I still hate you..."

Hearing him say that he hates me doesn't really affect me anymore because the smile on his face said otherwise. Oh Sasori, why are you like this?
