Austin's POV

I tried talking with Kellin to tell him I was sorry, but he wouldn't even give me his time of day. He just didn't get it, Alan was toxic and that's not a friendship that he should be having. He deserved to have good friends like me and his friends from camp that he's told me about. I just wanted my best friend back. I was so desperate to get him back I was almost tempted to talk to Vic about him and risk getting my dick shot off. At this point it might be something I'm willing to try.

When I saw Vic at his locker today I took a deep breath before walking up to him.

"Vic, can I talk to you?" I asked as he turned to rolled his eyes at me.

He glared at me, his hand slipped into his pocket. "What do you want, Carlile?"

"I need Kellin to talk to me. He won't talk to me."

"Okay, and what am I supposed to do? I can't force him to do something he doesn't want to do."

"Please, help me out."

Vic shook his head. "It's not my fight."

I groaned, "Do you know where he is right now?"

"He's in Fitz's class right now."

I nodded and started heading that way trying to think of what I was gonna say. I didn't know how I was going to apologize because honestly, I wasn't all that sorry. But I wanted my best friend back. Sometimes you had to fake it till you make it, though. Once I got there I sneaked a look in the room.

I knocked on the door gaining the attention of the two.

"Kells, can we talk?" I asked through the door.

He nodded quickly and headed out towards me as fast as possible.

"You okay?" I asked as soon as he left the classroom.

"Just disappointed, I forgot to turn in an assignment."

"Oh," I said giving him a look.

"What?" He asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Nothing, just can we talk?"

"About what?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"I wanna apologize for what I said about you being friends with Alan. I shouldn't be a dick about who you wanna be friends with. It's your life not mine."

"That's exactly right, Austin. It is my life. And it's a little stupid of you to tell me he's not good to be friends with him when you're just as bad as he is."

"What did I do?" I asked curious. As far as I knew I hadn't done anything wrong.

"Don't play stupid, Austin. Vic already told me."

"No he didn't."

"Yeah, he did. He thought I already knew and let it slip," Kellin said giving me a disapproving look.

"I'm sorry."

"Austin! Sorry doesn't do a single fucking thing! You're in a gang!" He shouted.

I slapped a hand over his mouth, "You can't just shout that anywhere you go."

Kellin licked the palm of my hand and glared at me.

"Ew!" I whined pulling my hand off.

"Don't slap my mouth," he told me, poking my chest.

"Then don't shout something like that."

"Don't be an idiot and I won't have to."

"I'm not being an idiot."
