"I think, I might sell you out if your fan will keep on doing it," I mutter to Pete as I narrow down my gaze at Earn who's busy with the distribution of custard cakes he has brought today.

"Hey! Don't you dare ditching me. Everyone else is already at his side!" Pete hisses indignantly while also looking at the direction of his fan.

Well, who wouldn't take Earn's side? He perfectly knows how to win everybody's heart!

Pete said, coaxing him back would be a difficult task for Earn since he had no romantic bones at all and is used to do things in a straightforward and abrasive way. He also had no patience, so he wondered how long would he be in their chasing-hearts game (don't blame me for that lame name. It's Pete's idea -_-").

However, contrary to what Pete had thought, Earn has shown off his romantic side in courting back his love the very next day after our twisted encountered at the parking lot. I could even hear the red alarm at Pete's voice when he had suddenly called at home because he hadn't expected Earn to act right away by sending him bouquets of flowers at his apartment door.

I know that sounds so girlish. If Forth would be giving me flowers, I might bat him with that. But, because Pete loved flowers, he almost gave in. (Again, he's kind of irresolute when it comes with his squid boy). I have to keep reminding him of our plan before he runs back to his fan without even giving too much hard work for Earn like our plan is supposed to be. (Also, I was worrying about my free lunch he promised. I have to enjoy it first! That's my major concern.)

Anyway, I was lucky to bring the resolution back in to Pete's eyes.

It's just that, Earn is also determined to show his remorse and unwavering love: He's escorting Pete to the hospital or to his apartment despite his busy schedule; Cooking his favorite dish which is the fried squid with basil leaves; and serenading him whenever he has a chance: personal or virtual, causing everyone who knows them sulk in jealousy(Not me, though, because you know ;-) )

But the main reason why everybody's taking his side is, he has also courted the people around Pete: friends, colleagues, even his patients by chatting and giving an impromptu concert every time he stays during his free time, making the children prefer to see his face rather us, their doctors.

Not only that, the best part he has which almost cause me to abandon Pete is the various foods he's sending everyday! Yay! It feels like festive in our ward because of it, I instantly become the supporter of Earn.

Savoring the richly flavor of my favorite cake, I turn to Pete who's struggling to maintain his chagrin exterior with all the things his squid boy is doing for him to reclaim his heart.

"He gives better food than you," I say teasingly

He lets out an exasperated sound as he shoots me a side look.

"You're a traitor!"

I shrug. What can I do? It's hard not to be gravitated towards the alluring scents of these delicacies.

He, then, suddenly snatches away the cake from me which earns him a smack in the head as my automatic response for taking away my food.

Fucking Pete smacks me in return, of course, when I try to snatch back my sweet piece of heaven. We have the same height, but why do his arms seem to be longer? He won't let me reach the cake!

"Earn! Your wifey's becoming a pain in the ass!" I immediately complain to the person I know can have an upper hand to this impossible man, as I see him approaching.
