Winter smirked and turned round to poke fun of the girls robot fetish but was tripped by a root. She let out a shriek as she hit the forest floor with a loud 'thud!'.

" help me up Fantasy." She asked holding out her hand.

The brunette let out a quiet laugh. She gladly reached for her friend's hand.

Maxon could see a clearing through the trees, Winter turned to see what he was staring at. She pulled Fantasy's hand as the three held hands.

(Maxon holding hands with Fantasy on one side while Winter holds hands with Fantasy on the other.)

They let Winter pull them towards the clearing as Maxon felt happiness build up inside him. He could tell that the vault was close and now was happy that he had decided to help Fantasy earlier in the woods.

"Hmmm what a nice sight. I thought one would notice a tall figure following them but no, one did not~" a male's voice whispered into Fantasy's ear gently.

She let out a shriek. No one else had heard the voice. Winter looked at her confused.

"Y-you di-didn't jus-just hear that!?" Fantasy questioned as she began to shake slightly.

He legs started to give out from under her, the voice sparked something she had never felt before. It terrified her to the core of her small being. Her eyes searched the area around them with fear pouring off of her but Winter tried to look into her eyes wanting to see what had caused her to become so ridged.

" Fantasy what's wrong?" She asked as worry bubbled inside her.

Maxon looked around as well, Something felt off almost as something had been stalking them. He had just brushed the feeling of as anxiety from the situation they had been I'm beforehand. He spotted a black figure dart between the trees attempting to run from their gaze. He could see two beady green eyes and black scales that seemed to trap the light. Winter caught sight of the creature and instantly stepped foward to shield Fantasy. Her fist clenched around a blade tucked in her back left pocket. Her eyes found its way to its, they locked eyes for no more than a few moments but it was enough for the hair on her arms to stand on end.

" What the are you!?" She called out, her voice loud and clear.

" the portal's child, the Prince and the target. What a lucky catch. I'll be swimming in wealth by tonight~" it spoke like you would imagine a snake would.

Fantasy instantly felt a weight drop onto her shoulders as her legs gave way. Winter caught her before she fell fully to the ground. Eyes met each other's once again though this time one pair held annoyance.

"Stay away you beast! You dare come near and I'll be sure to gauge out those eyes of yours!" She roared as she held Fantasy tightly with one arm.

"What strange creatures, they're nor seeking nor finding. Why would such talents be seated with a prince of nothing?" Its question rang in her ears like a broken record.

She couldn't even speak as it watched them like a predator would watch its helpless prey. Maxon felt the same heavy weight on his shoulders start to pull him down, he had long ago let go of the girl's pale hand. Winter felt the weight but brushed it off as the air filling with tension.

"What do you think you are doing huh?! Come face me night shard!" She growled raising her fists in anger.

" Ah so she knows what I am, shame really." Its eyes closed for a few seconds.
