Chapter 17
Previously~

"You can't be here! You're not real we created you how how!" Emma screamed digging her nails into her arm drawing blood.

"Neither can exist I'm sorry" a deep voice said and the world went white.

Winter felt her eyes open as a strong scent of iron hung around the room. She crinkled her nose as she slowly sat up trying her best to ignore the pain fluttering in her throat and chest.
"Fa-Fantasy?" Her voice came out scratchy but she didn't mind.

She decided to try stand but felt something squishy under foot. Her eyes widened at the mauled body that lay on the floor eyes still open and mouth gasping.
"What the actual fuck happened?! I was out for less than a day and there is already a dead body ?!" She cursed looking around for her girlfriend.
She felt her eyes widen at the girl lying rock solid on the freezing tiled floor.
She managed to take a few steps before her legs gave out from under her and she landed beside Fantasy.
"What happened!" She growled checking for a pulse.
She felt her muscles relax after feeling the delicate beat beneath her fingers. It was soft barely there at all but it made her heart calm down a little bit knowing she wasn't a dead body.

"I think we can solve this..." she muttered remembering a room a few floors down holding a few highly advanced "healing" pods.

Picking up the girl was easy but walking while carrying her unconscious body was not. She stumbled and swayed around with each step making everything a hundred times harder. She growled feeling pain blossom in her head as her vision became blurry for little more than a few seconds.
It took awhile( 55 minutes) but she managed to make her way down five flights of stairs and through a few corridors to find the room. It was freezing but she didn't care as she waltzed up towards one of the pods and placed Fantasy inside. It closed instantly and began to fill with a turquoise liquid that as soon as it touched her skin it froze. She slumped up against the pod as she closed her eyes remembering the dream that had brought up some unnecessary memories and distress.
"Author I get how you're trying to rush the plot since the books ending soon but come on! Can't you think of a more creative way to give us a backstory! It's so cliche!" She moaned not noticing the object sitting on the pod start to roll off.

She groaned as it smashed against her skull, she growled sprawling her limbs across the ground sighing deeply. She gave some being a middle finger cursing its cruelty on her.
"What the hell?!" She roared as her head pounded.

*time skip*

Winter stood geared up at the hatch, she glanced down making sure it was well hidden so no one would randomly find it. Then she sped off at a sprint using a spell to boost her speed, she had her mind set on killing the man at fault for all of this.
" I will destroy you I promise." She growled to herself slipping between the trees like a shadow moving with the sun.
Her hair was tied in a tight bun so it wouldn't annoy her while she fought. Her eyes scanned the area around her as she cast a spell for wings. she felt the feathers and bones tear through her skin. She gritted her teeth knowingly letting the pain flood her senses. She took a deep breath and spread her wings taking flight. It took a few tries obviously not used to wings but she managed to get off the ground. She let her natural instincts take control has her vision faded and her hearing heightened.

"Papa?" She called out feeling the presence of the portal around her.
'I'm here my little one, do not worry. I will be your eyes and body while you will be the ears and smell.'he stated as he controlled her movements smoothly.
She didn't resist knowing the man was a better fighter as he had once been one of the greatest in his own realm.
"Yes papa." She replied as the wind whipped in her face though it didn't even slow her down in the slightest.
'We shall be there in a few minutes, I'm going to teleport, I'll use my own essence and life force so that you can fight when I lose control.' Her father warned her.

She felt herself flying through something made of a huge amount of energy. It gave her the shivers never feeling such a massive amount of essence before.
She had let out a cry as she felt her entire being forced to travel through as the energy flowed throughout her body making every sense dull.
'See that wasn't to bad was it dear? Your mother would be proud.' He praised her.

" you really do live up to your reputation papa." She gasped she landed in an open field.

"My my that was very quick, I didn't think you still had connections with the 1st portal." A feminine voice spoke dragging on the word 'portal'.

"Shut up Hag!" She growled feeling herself make her way towards the voice.
"It's funny how you mention hags because I have your hag of a mother right here." She cackled as someone was kicked forward harshly.

"Yalva? Kibou?!" The woman called as she felt her eyes start to water.
Her eyes squinted to see a female figure in front of her and a ghost like figure beside her.
"I'm so glad... I love you both so very much thank you for living after all that has happened." She laughed as her tears flooded her eyes and started to fall.

"Mum is that really you?" Winter asked as her own eyes began to fill with salted tears.
"Oh Yalva you've grown up so much, I've missed you so very much." Her mother answered holding out her arms for her only child but only to feel a blast of lightening to strike her already pained back.

"Mum! Get away from her you bitch!" Winter screamed as her father once again took over her body as he had allowed her to see her mother.
"Tsk tsk be quiet bug! Wait your turn, no skipping have some manners!" The cruel woman growled shooting another bolt of lightning to the helpless woman.

This made both even more angry as rage took over. The charged towards her as a ball of hot flaming magma shot at the woman with terrifying accurately. She expected this and moved out of the way before it could touch her.

"Look at them! Over come with anger but still cannot lay a finger on me!" She roared sending another bolt of lightning at the woman.

"Stop that you monster!" Winter screamed rushing towards the woman deciding to use brute strength rather than magic.
'Stop it! Let me control you!' Her father growled trying to take back control but failing.

The evil woman wasn't expecting her to use fists and was knocked off her feet from the force. Winter shot a bolt of lightning from her finger tips electrocuting the woman but then
she was knocked backwards by a burning force. She let out a cry in pain forgetting the man who stood a few metres away.

"You seemed to forget I was even her Yalva, am I not worthy?" He sighed sending another ball of fire towards her.

"F-fuck you bastard!" She screamed sending her own ball of fire at him.

He moved out the way shaking his head in disappointment for such a pathetic attempt at injuring him.
"You seem to forget that we have the night shards and can use their own life force for power didn't you?" The woman smirked standing up on her two feet as a fleet of black creatures appeared.

"Ok so i didn't put that into account!" She shouted dodging teeth and claws from all directions.
She grunted unable to do anything other than defend herself rather than fight them off.

' we can't go on like this I'm gong to teleport you back to the vault, this isn't going to end well for us.'  Her father informed her hastily.

She nodded as he began to cast the spell. A gate forming in the sky just big enough for her body to fly through. She took off much faster than the night shards since only a few had acquired a pair of wings.

She felt her body being pulled towards the gateway knowing that it could fail since her father had been weakened considerably since the first time he teleported her.

She didn't see the couple of night shards behind her who followed Winter into the gateway.
