Wake Me Up

He never though this would be his final battle. None the less, this was it, the Bestial Titan had his life. He was foolish to take him alone but, he had to for the sake of everyone else. He would never see his beloved Nanaba again.

He screamed in grasps of of the Titans under his control. "No, no, no!" He screamed and gasped out over again. The Titans had taken him limb by limb, first his left leg and then the torture continued. His maneuver gear destroyed and head nearly smashed, this was the end. His screams filled the air and in his last moments all he could think was, "Let Nanaba keep living, she shouldn't give up because I am gone." Silence, all was silent but, for the speaking of the Bestial Titan. Humanities Second Strongest, Mike Zacharias had lost his final battle. His blood stained, deformed body lay there lifeless, for no one to find.

"Feeling my way through the darkness. Guided by a beating heart. I can't tell where my journey will end. But I know where to start."

Many miles away that same night in the ruins of Castle Utgard, Nanaba would meet her fate as well. She too, losing her life to the command of the Bestial Titan.

Trying to protect the unarmed new recruits, Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, Connie Springer, Krista Lenz, and Ymir Fritz. It was to no avail in keeping herself to live along with them. The castle had been invaded, the Titans kept coming, blades were used as gone, gas run out, maneuver gear useless. She had tried to save her comrade, Gelgar, then went the gas. She fell victim to the Titans.

She screamed out "No daddy no, I'll be a good girl!" She didn't want to reminisce on her toxic relationship with her father but, that was all she could scream, her left leg gone and others being pulled apart by the Titans. This pain was so reminiscent of what her father endured her through, he didn't deserve a title such as father. "Let Mike live, or have you killed him too?" She thought towards the Bestial Titan. "Did you!? Did you take him too!?" She thought. Then silence, her voice had stoped it's screaming, her last amounts of oxygen gone.

"They tell me I'm too young to understand. They say I'm caught up in a dream. Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes. Well that's fine by me. So wake me up when it's all over. When I'm wiser and I'm older. All this time I was finding myself. And I didn't know I was lost."

Mike awoke. "How could this be? I've died haven't I? Is this some sort of punishment?" He thought. He was laying in a bed, one with pristine white sheets. He wasn't missing any limbs, his head was still intact with his body. He felt his face in disbelief, his slight facial hair was there, his brown hair perfectly parted. Then came the feeling of a presence next to him.

"So wake me up when it's all over. When I'm wiser and I'm older. All this time I was finding myself. And I didn't know I was lost. I tried carrying the weight of the world. But I only have two hands. Hope I get the chance to travel the world. But I don't have any plans."

Nanaba awoke softly, her eyelashes batting open to reveal shining blue irises. Then suddenly she bolted up. "I'm dead, how can I be lying here in a bed?" She questioned to herself. Then she registered the man sitting next to her. "Mike!" She shouted in rejoice, then she realized, the Beast took him after all. She flung herself forward, latching her arms around his broad shoulders as a sob wracked her body.

Mike registered the hands around his shoulders and the sobbing voice saying, "You're not supposed to be here." Nanaba, She wasn't supposed to be hear either. This was death, and presumably the middle ground of Heaven and Hell. They knew they weren't good enough of people for Heaven but, maybe a little too good for Hell. "You aren't either," Mike said to her, tears leaking out of the corners of his eyes. Mike studied the space, holding Nanaba. The room was made of logs, with a door to the left of the bed. White curtains with a lace trim covered the wide window to their right, a breeze blowing through it.

"Wish that I could stay forever this young. Not afraid to close my eyes. Life's a game made for everyone. And love is the prize."

"Nanaba, look at where we are," Mike said, Nanaba's sobbing soon stopped, she looked at the space with tears in her eyes. This was the little wooden cottage they had always talked about, they knew it was only wishful thinking but, here it was, here they were.

"So wake me up when it's all over. When I'm wiser and I'm older. All this time I was finding myself. And I didn't know I was lost. So wake me up when it's all over. When I'm wiser and I'm older. All this time I was finding myself. And I didn't know I was lost."

They would spend the rest of time here. They wouldn't age, there were no Titans, you couldn't die here, they had already done that. They weren't going to do it again. "Mike," Nanaba said wordlessly, no sign of a sentence continued. "I'm here, you're here, we can live now, we can't forget what happened but, now we're here, just us," Mike said. Nanaba turned to him again. His large hands griped in Nanaba's short, blonde hair. They leaned closer and closer until soft lips pressed against each other. They woke up, it was over.

"Didn't know I was lost. I didn't know I was lost. I didn't know I was lost. I didn't know, didn't know, didn't know."

Hey my italics is fixed! I hope! This one was kinda hard for me. Mike and Nanaba's deaths were the most harrowing thing for me out of season two and I could feel the tears building up. Even if it was supper sad I hope you enjoyed. There'll be a new chapter of PATC soon. Take care.
