I hear a beep coming from my phone-- a text.

From: Asa
Open your window
I follow his instructions, walking to my window and opening it.
"Hey!" he shouts. I crawl out of the window and sit on the roof.
I smile. "Hey." Since our houses are identical inside and out (not furniture and stuff... that'd be weird.) and we both had the master bedroom apparently, he too has a roof by his window so he follows my actions.
"Whats up?"
"Nothing much, you?" After that we pretty much just stare at each other. I finally decide to speak up. "We sound like middle schoolers texting," I laugh.
Asa laughs, too. "Yeah, we do," Silence... until, "So, I wanted to talk about our date."
"Oh, do we now?"
"Yeah, so I was thinking to show you around the neighborhood, than we can go to a cafe or have a picnic."
I scrunch my nose at the word 'picnic'. "Ew, I hate grass."
Asa laughs again... it's such a gorgeous laugh. "Okay, so café it is." I nod. We just stare at each other for a while after, smiling. It's not awkward or weird, it's... comfortable. That's until Asa's mom comes home with his two sisters, Loxie and Marlie I believe their names are.
Loxie whispers something to their mom, and she looks up, seeing Asa on the roof. "Asa! Why on earth are you on the roof?!"
"I'm not on the roof, mum!" he calls back.
"Asa Maxwell Thornton Farr Butterfield! Get off of there; now!".
"See you tomorrow, yeah?" Asa says, then turns his attention back to his mother. "I said I'm not on the roof!" I laugh as he winks and scrambles back into his room. I stand up and duck into my own room. How could you not love this boy?
Once again, I get a text from Asa.

Got it:)
Oh my god, why'd I put a smiley face?! I groan. That was so stupid! Now he probably thinks I'm weird and over-attached, and we're not even dating!
Oh god, I ruined my chances.
Stop being so stupid! It was a smiley face, Franny, not 23 heart emojis!
That was the only time my subconscious actually said something useful. I'm just stressing over nothing! I picked up my phone to call Gemma.
"Hey!"
"Hey, Gemma! Okay, so, yeah I'm on TOTAL FREAK OUT MODE GEMMA!" I say, pacing back and forth.
"Geeze, what?" I put the phone on speakers and set it on my desk.
"What? WHAT?! I have a date with Asa. Tomorrow."
"Omg! Tomorrow? What are you gonna wear? How are you gonna do your hair? Natural or heavy makeup?"
"This is why I'm calling you! Get over here. Now. And the date is at four tomorrow so I'm gonna skip eighth period, so are you."
"Will that be enough time?"
"No! But it'll have to be enough...right? Right?!" I throw my hands into the air.
"I guess! Ugh, this is crazy. Okay, I'll be at your house in 10."
She hangs up and I fall onto my bed, screaming.
I'M SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED! Yet so stressed at the same time! Oh my godness, what if I get stress pimples? I reach up and lightly touch my forehead.
Ah, no pimples.
I sigh in relief and fall back onto my bed.
