Chapter 1

"Good morning." Akira said to a maid as she walked out of her room.

It's been 8 years since her father passed the law for female Samurai. Akira continued down the hall, meeting her father at the dining room.

"Father, I will be off again today. I'm planning to take a ride around the kingdom."

"What for?" Her father sternly said.

"Checking the Samurai, both genders."

"You really do love samurai don't you Akira." The Emperor smiled at his daughter.

"I do father. I wish to become one." Akira smiled.

"Dream on Akira. You may be the Princess, the heir to the throne, but you can't always get what you want."

"I know father." Akira smiled.

Akira and her father ate breakfast in quiet. The sound of silence made Akira feel lonely, "I miss you, Mother."

Akira finished her breakfast and walked to her room. She changed into a formal Japanese Kimono and put fixed her hair, which was about down to her waist. She saddled a horse, and rode off. She check the Male samurai training, everything seemed fine. Akira then rode to the large cho, where female samurai training took place.

"Hinata-San?" Akira called out for the leader, "Where are you?"

"Princess, I would like to inform you that Lady Hinata has passed her role down as leader of the female samurai clan." A voice responded.

Akira looked around to see a girl her age walking to her, "I am Lady Yukari new leader of the Female Samurai."

Akira looked at her in awe, "She seems familiar."

"Lady Yukari, I want to check on the training of our fellow warriors." Akira responded.

"Follow me."

The trainees were working hard. Mastering kendo, judo, and many more arts of defense and offense.

"It was my dream to become a female samurai." Lady Yukari told Akira, "Now here I am. Officially the leader and captain of the female samurai."

"I wanted to be a samurai when I was younger.." Akira confessed, "And I still do."

Yukari looked at her Princess in shock, "You wanted to become a samurai! I though being a Princess was every girls' dream!"

"It's boring I need adventure in my life, Lady Yukari."

"I like your spirit, Princess." Yukari sighed, "What would you do if I said I would train you?"

"I would say yes!" Akira responded happily, "I would try my hardest."

"Then you're in. Meet me at moonrise in the clearing." Yukari walked away.

"I'm in?!" Akira stood in shock.
