Love In The Moonlight [Discontinued]

Chapter 15

The early sunrise shone on the samurai. Shining on the golden highlights of their armor.

"It's a perfect day." Yukari mumbled, "But, this day is one for war."

Yukari was frightened, no terrified, the nightmare still haunted her thoughts. Over and over, again and again, that same nightmare played. She tried to ignore it but, she couldn't hold the feeling to cry and quit. Yukari covered her face with her free hand.

"I can't! I can't take this no longer!" She whispered.

Tears stung in her eyes, and even before she could even notice them, they fell. Leaving a small track of water on her cheek. Yukari stopped her horse.

Akira rode over to Yukari, and told the rest of the troops to continue ahead. Akira then put all her attention to Yukari.

"Yukari?" Akira asked calmly, "Are you okay?"

Yukari shook her head and whispered a quiet "no". Her had still covering her face.

Akira looked at Yukari with pitiful eyes, she took the hand covering the violet-haired leader and gently took it down. Akira looked in shock as she saw Yukari. Her once brave looking face had changed into one of a terrified child. She looked as if she was going to burst in tears. Immediately Akira wrapped her arms around Yukari.

"Yukari... It's okay I'm here." Akira smiled reassuringly.

"I-I j-just don't want toー" Yukari started to cry.

Akira smiled then leaned her head into Yukari's and placed her lips onto her companion's. Yukari blushed deeply, but accepted the little gift and kissed Akira back. As the kiss grew more passionate, Yukari felt stronger.

As the two released, Akira smiled "I'll protect you no matter what Yukari, and I'll promise nothing will happen to me after this war... I promise!"

The two quickly jumped onto their horses and galloped to the front lines.

Yukari felt stronger, but in the inside weaker. Love has it's advantages and disadvantages.
