I was suddenly in a store room with all manners of fruit and vegetables surrounding me. Pandora was standing next to me with our dresses in her hands.
"Oh my god we just stole from a store!" I shouted loudly and she covered my mouth.
"I'm never going shopping with you again. And please just shut up about this. Nobody knows apart from you, Caleb, Patty and Chris." She spoke desperately.
It was wrong to steal and I knew that but I still had just helped execute a plan to steal two dresses. I also knew that Pandora would kill me if I told anyone and would know what I was doing. So I decided to just keep my mouth shut about today.
"Okay I won't tell anyone but just because I'm keeping your secret doesn't mean I'm going to help you do it again." I warned her.
"Thank you. Now Piper should be in the kitchen or at the bar in the front of the restaurant." Pandora told me nodded towards the door.
She then beamed out. As she did she went transparent and a little red glow came from her chest. Within seconds she was gone.
I turned towards the door and opened it. I stepped out into a rather calm kitchen. I leaned my head from side to side to try and spot Piper. She wasn't in here. I crept out of the store room and casually walked through the kitchen. There were three men in here but they didn't notice me. They were too busy either washing the dishes or preparing the dishes.
I then came out of double doors and was standing in the restaurant. It was huge and the tables were being put out. I looked to my left and saw massive bar in the middle of the restaurant. It would have been bigger if the wall didn't cut off the rest of the semi- circular bar. Directly in front of the bar was the main entrance. I searched in that direction for Piper.
I saw a small lady sitting at one of the stools by the bar with a clipboard. I then realised it was Piper. She was waiting for me by the till. I quickly walked over to her, passing a few waiters and waitresses on the way. I stopped just before her and tapped her shoulder.
She turned around and a look of relief fell on her face.
"Where have you been? It's almost 3pm?" She asked.
I had to take time to register that sentence. Pandora and I had spent almost two hours in the changing rooms at that store.
"I'm sorry I got held up. Um what do you want me to do?" I asked quickly changing the subject.
"The lights in the bar are not working and then that one blew last night." Piper explained pointing to a light above our heads.
"Okay I'll get it sorted. Do you have a tool box?" I asked observing the lights in the bar.
"Yes I'll get it brought to you now. Hey Eric, can you fetch the toolbox over here please." Piper called to one of the waiters.
He nodded and then disappeared into the background. A few moments later he came back with a red toolbox. He put it on the bar counter.
"Thanks Eric. Now if you need anything just ask Eric and he'll help." Piper explained to me.
I nodded and then she walked away with her clipboard. The guy called Eric was still standing by me. He was smiling and looking me up and down.
Ew.
I awkwardly half smiled back and climbed on the counter. As he walked away he winked at me.
Jesus. He can keep on walking.
I pulled my hair up into a ponytail so it wouldn't be in my face. I took out a few screws, a spanner and some wire and began working on the bar lights..
************************************************
By the time I had finished all the lights the staff of Piper's restaurant were setting up the tables. The clock read 4:30 pm.
I was taking my sweet time to do everything today and I didn't know why. Either I was going too slow or the world was going too fast. I put all the tools away and gave the box back to Eric the Creep. I turned on the switch and none of the lights came on.
I had done everything right and they should be lighting up like a Christmas tree. But they were sitting there. Dead.
I had an idea in my head on how to surge power into the lights. I could just spark fuses with my lightening.
When all the waiters were really busy I spread out my hand on the wall. I knew there were electrical wires behind it leading to the lights.
I gathered the vibrating energy in my stomach. I didn't want to make it a lightening bolt but just a small spark. Then my hands were beginning to turn blue and little sparks were flying off of my fingers. Then with one push of hand I sent the current flowing through the wall.
I watched as one by one every single light in the restaurant came on. They were really bright and the great chandelier lit up the whole place. I then dissipated my lightening from my hand took it off the wall.
I automatically smiled as everyone in the restaurant gazed up at the lights. I grabbed the band that was holding my hair up and pulled it out. Strands of my hair got tangled around it. I gripped onto the band and yanked it out of my hair. As the band ripped free from my hair a dash of lightening shot out of my fist. It soared through the air until eventually landing on shelves of glasses. The lightening penetrated the glass and blew them up into tiny shards.
I covered my eyes and smashes glass came flying everywhere. I blocked my face with my hands. Then a long piece of glass flew in my direction and sliced open my hand. I screamed in pain.
Once of all the glass had finished prancing and soaring around everywhere, Piper and Eric the Creep ran over towards me. My blood was all over the floor and up my arm.
Blood in a restaurant, very hygienic, nice one Anna.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Piper frantically asked looking at the scene.
I gave her one look and she knew what happened. She nodded and then sent Eric the Creep to get the first aid box.
"Did your lightening do this?" Piper leaned over the bar.
"It just came out of my hand without me wanting it to. I'm sorry I didn't mean to break your glasses." I apologised.
Eric the Creep came back and bandaged my sliced hand together. The cleaner and some of the waiters had began to clean up the glass and to clean up my blood. They practically bleached my blood from the floor.
Once my hand was bandaged Piper told me to go home and that it was an accident. An accident that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't used my lightening to turn the lights on.
I had a few dollars in my pocket, enough to catch a bus home. Piper gave me one last reassuring look that everything was fine and I headed out the door..
