Charmed Again (Part 2/3)

Chapter 8

Pandora had gotten us a booth to sit at. She and Caleb were in charge of getting the drinks. The music of the band surged through the walls and the sound waves vibrated through my chest. I sat next to Jack on the inside of the booth. Pandora was next to me and Caleb next to her.

"How did you get him to let me through?" I shouted over the music.

"When your a Cupid a lot of the tricks come in handy with stubborn guys like that. Sometimes they need a bit of...motivation." Pandora shouted back with a grin.

I decided to not say anything on how Pandora does things. It was the way she was and I doubt that anyone could change that.

Throughout the night I had hardly talked to anyone. I had just listened to the amazing stories that they've had to face.

When Caleb went up to get drinks and Pandora went to the bathroom it was just me and Jack. He smiled his perfect smile and I couldn't help but smile back.

"So uh are you have a nice time?" Jack asked me.

It hadn't been entirely bad...

"Uh yeah. Yeah I'm having a nice time." I answered him with a smile.

"Do you go to Magic School?" He asked taking a sip of his last drink.

"No I don't. I kind of self teach myself with help from my friends and Pandora's family." I told him as he listened.

"Oh cool. So what's your power?" He asked.

Oh god.

"I have bolt projection and...madness manipulation." I replied glumly, remembering the accident at the restaurant and with Melinda.

"Madness Manipulation? What does that do?" He curiously asked.

I hesitated before I answered him. It wasn't exactly the most amazing gift in the world.

"I can sort of make people's brains explode." I said in a unsatisfied tone.

He didn't know how to answer back to that. Luckily Caleb came back with more drinks and Pandora returned from the bathroom.

"So what are you kids talking about?" Caleb asked putting the drinks down.

"My ability to make people's brains explode." I answered carelessly.

Caleb stopped and stared at me with a strange look to his eyes. Then the band began to sing a new song. Pandora started to get up and dance.

"I love this song! Come on move!" She shouted dragging Caleb to the dance floor.

They both began to dance in the middle of the club. I sat there quietly with Jack.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked me.

I didn't know how to dance. But I didn't want to make him sit down all night with nothing to talk about.

"Sure." I reluctantly said and stood up.

He took my hand and led me on to the dance floor. He started to move his feet and move my arms to get me dancing. I could seriously break my neck in these shoes but I began to attempt to dance.

I started to laugh uncontrollably as I looked a complete idiot. I looked to my left and Pandora was practically grinding on Caleb.

I laughed even more and let my unco-ordinated feet dance to rhythm of the music for as long as they could take me..

I had been dancing for what seemed like ages but my feet had become num. Jack swayed me around with his hands wrapped around my waist. Pandora was plying me with drinks and I was getting a little bit tipsy.

"I need to go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a second." I told Jack and he let me go.

I made my through the crowd of people dancing and drinking. I finally found the bathroom and headed inside.

I stood at the sinks and washed my hands. I put water up my arms and pressed my hand to my head to cool me down.

I hated to admit it but I was having a really good time. I smiled and giggled to myself.

Then I heard something tip over behind me. I turned around but nothing was there. How drunk was I? I shook it off and went to go out of the door.

I stopped. A man was standing in front of me, wearing odd clothes. Not demon clothes. Like medival clothes. He had a tunic and trousers, odd looking boots and a cape with a hood.

"Please you must come back and fix what you have done. The city is crumbling, you must save us!" He pleaded to me.

I stepped back. I began the urge for lightening in my palm. This time I didn't care what voltage I used. I wanted him away from me.

"Who are you? I don't know what you're talking about?" I asked my hand sparking blue.

"You have to save us! You must fix what you have broken! I will not take no for an answer my queen." He shouted steeling forward.

"I have no idea what you want from me. Who are you?" I asked again.

"My queen I do not want to take you by force but I will if that's what it takes. You must fix us. You must pay penance for what you have done." The strange man sadly told me.

Then behind him and swirling opening formed. Wind was coming from It and it looked like some kind of vortex or portal.

"Quickly my queen! We must go!" He shouted to me.

I didn't move. I didn't even know if he was a demon. When I didn't do as he asked he charged to take my hand. Unfortunately he took the wrong one and got electrocuted.

As he fell to the floor Pandora, Caleb and Jack burst through the door.

"Anna!" Pandora screamed pointing behind me.

I turned around and saw another man. He was dressed all in black and his hood covered his face. He took a hold of me and forced me towards the portal.

I fought as hard as I could. I started to feel my lightening slip away and a rage bubbled in my stomach. Then the man that had seized me let go. He dropped to the floor in pain. His hands were held to his head.

Suddenly a bolt of fire flew through the air and caught on to the dark figure. He burned and screamed in pain. Then after a few moments he perished and burst into flames.

When I looked up to see where the other guy was he was half way through the portal. The swirling vortex closed and the man disappeared.

I caught my breath from my fight and I looked up at everyone. Caleb was standing nearest. It was his fire projection that killed the dark figure. I looked into their eyes and they were all filled with same expressions.

Fear...
