Got my day ruined, but at least I had my friends with me at school.

Mike Williams, Michelle Choi, and 6 others liked this.

Michelle Choi: Don’t let that lowlife get to you.

Jenny Simmons: I tried not to, but she’s so damn annoying.

Marc Harris: Ladies, calm down.

Michelle Choi: Sorry babe.

CHAPTER 4:

We just got out of AP Chemistry. Danny, Alison, and I were headed to the music hall for our last class of the day. It was another class Danny moved to. Mike saw us in the hallway.

“Danny, what are you doing with Caleb?” Mike asked.

“He helped me,” I said. “Randy, Harvey, and Greg were ganging up on me in the locker room. I was lucky Danny was there to stop them.”

“Thank you, Danny, sorry for coming on there,” Mike said.

“Don’t worry, I just did what I had to and you’re just looking out for Caleb,” he replied. “I think I should get to the music hall first, so I can talk with Ms. O’Donnell about my transfer.”

“Okay Danny, we’ll see you there,” I said. Danny walked off. I saw him run into a girl, who he hugged and kissed on the cheek.

“Where’s Marc?”

“I told him to go on ahead because he was running late.”

Mike was not happy about it, but he just nodded.

“Right, so do you mind spilling about Randy and his goons?”

“I will, later, at your house, remember?”

“Yeah, we’re gonna be late for class,” Alison said as she grabbed me by the arm. Everyone knew she was the quiet type, but she was also very crucial with time especially for her classes. It was no surprise she was going to be our class’ valedictorian.

“Guys, I left my notebook in my locker by accident,” I said rummaging through my backpack. We were already at the parking lot in front of Mike’s truck. “I’ll just go back in and grab it real quick.”

“I’ll join you,” Mike said.

“No, you don’t have to, I won’t take long.”

I jogged back into the school and made my way to my locker. The halls were empty, which was a huge relief. I arrived at my locker without running into anyone. My locker had the words ‘homo’ and ‘fag’ spray painted on it. I just sighed and opened my locker. I knew there were more gay kids in school, but they were especially good at keeping hidden from public eye.

“This is getting old, real fast,” I mumble to myself. “I just want it to be over.”

“Then kill yourself,” Harvey said.

I knew that taunting, nasal voice anywhere. He slammed my locker, hitting my head and my arm. I stumbled back and saw that he was alone. Looking around, I saw Randy and Greg were not around.

“Hope you like our little welcome back gift.”

“I don’t. You lack originality,” I said.

He lunged at me. Within seconds, I was on the floor. I struggled to break his grip, but he kept me pinned on the ground. I felt a sharp blow on my gut, which was followed by two more. There was a satisfied grin on his face.
