Chapter 15

I let myself into Audrey's house, "Audrey, Harper I'm here!"

I walk into the kitchen to find Audrey putting cupcakes in the oven.

"Hey, I'm making Jack and Coke cupcakes."

"Oh yum. What for?" I ask.

"Well I figured we could have girl night after we hang out with the guys."

"You don't want me to yell at you for telling Carter."

She gulps, "Oh. Is he going to tell him?"

I shake my head, "No but that's because he has something on Ryder. I just don't know what."

She shrugs, "Maybe Carter thinks he deserves it."

"Do you want to know what he did last night?" I ask with a sigh.

"Yes we do!"

I turn to see Harper and I sigh, "Then sit down."

"So what did the asshole do?" Audrey says dryly.

I frown, "It was actually sweet. He planned a whole night just for us. You remember how we use to make those forts? Well one night during the ski trip I told him how I missed that. So he had Preston and Carter help him make a fort out of pillows, cushions, and sheets. He blew up the air mattress and hung christmas lights inside the fort to light it up. He made chinese food, and we watched disney movies all night."

Harper smiles, "Awwwww."

Audrey looks surprised, "That could not have been his idea. There's no fucking way."

I frown, "It was. And he gave me purple roses."

Harper grins, "I knew it was him! I told you!"

I nod, "It was. He was actually really sweet. And this morning we took Izzy and Rosie sledding."

Harper awws again and Audrey shakes her head, "He's using the little sister card."

I look at her in disbelief, "Audrey he really cares about Rosie. He'd do anything for her."

She rolls her eyes, "I doubt that. He use to completely ignore her and Sammi."

"Sammi was what eleven? And Rosie was a baby. He was a young teenage boy, of course he ignored them."

She shrugs, "Whatever. As long as you wrote it down and he's a nice guy in the end I don't care. I just want Ryder back."

Harper frowns, "You know, he has to like Rory an awful lot to have done that for her. The fort and roses?"

Audrey scowls, "I doubt that."

Harper looks at her like she's stupid, "Aud, he has to like her some to even be dating her. Whether he finds her hot, or he just likes her, he likes her. Surely you realized that when you suggest that she do this?"

Audrey shrugs looking a little pissed, "It didn't really occur to me."

I sigh, "Do you want me to stop?"

Stopping would be a relief.

"No! Please no."

I sigh, "Fine."

I hadn't told her about the pictures, if I told her about them I knew she'd make me break up with him.

"Audrey!"

I hear Prestons voice before I see him, "Hey."

He smiles, "Hey Rory. So how was your surprise?"

I smile, "Good. Thank you for helping him."

He shrugs, "The least I could do. I thought it was uncharacteristically sweet of him."
