The roads were slick, and I had almost slide off the road twice. I'd been driving for an hour when my phone finally stops ringing with Ryder's ringtone. I had to admit, the boy was persistant, and I was beginning to realize how right he had been. This was dangerous.
When my phone rings again with Sammi's ringtone I debate on answering. Finally I decide to answer.
"What?"
Rory? Oh thank god. Are you okay?
"I'm fine. I'd be better if my phone stopped ringing every five minutes."
Are you still crying?
"God dammit will you guys just leave me alone? Please."
She sighs, Just let me know when you get home safe. I'm worried about you. I'm so sorry Rory.
I sniff, "I'll text you Sammi. Goodbye."
I vaguley hear, Wait don't let her hang up!, before hitting end.
I look in the mirror as I drive, my makeup was smeared around my pink puffy eyes. My nose made me look like rudolf, and my cheeks were stained with tears from an hour of constant crying.
My whole world had fallen apart. Everything I had loved was ruined in a matter of a few hours. I had given myself to him in everyway possible and he had been lying to me the entire time. He probably didn't even really love me. It was probably all part of his game.
I skid around a curve as I drive, nearly spinning out from not paying attention.
I keep my eyes on the road after that. For the next half an hour I concentrate and ignore the ringing of my phone.
The constant ringing, haunting me like the words, "I love you," spinning around in my head.
***Ryder***
When I've gotten through to her dad over skype he looks at me perplexed, "What's wrong?"
"Rory left."
His eyes widen, "Why the hell did she leave in the storm?!"
I gulp, "It's my fault. I've been trying to get a hold of her but she won't answer. Sammi's trying to call her now."
He sighs and Izzy comes on screen, "Ryder where's Rory?"
I gulp, "She's not here sweetie."
Her face falls, "She holds me during storms. It's scary. Where did she go?"
Her dad meets my eyes and looks down at Izzy, "She was trying to get home to you honey."
I run my hands through my hair, "Can you please try calling her?"
He nods, "I will, hold on."
Sammi shouts, "I got her!"
I look at her dad and block out Sammi talking to Rory, "If she's not far away I'm going after her. I'm not letting her drive out there alone."
He shakes his head, "No Ryder. You need to wait until the storm ends. If I hear from her I'll call you."
I look at him, "You're not even going to ask what I did?"
He sighs, "No, because I can see from your face that you honestly regret it, and knowing my daughter she's just as much at fault as you are. Go talk to her on the phone."
He hangs up and I turn to Sammi as she's saying bye, "Wait don't let her hang up!"
She looks at the phone, "She hung up already. I'm sorry but she doesn't want to talk to you. She's still crying Ryder!"
