Chapter 34

When I pull up my dad is already inside, I yell at Sammi to stay in the car. I don't even know if she listens. She had been texting furiously ever since we hung up with my dad in the car.

When I run inside I see my dad has Dan up against the wall, "Where is she?"

Dan looks at me and sneers, "She's upstairs."

Tony moves to stand in my way, I step towards him, "Don't you dare go up there you little asshole."

I ignore him and shove past him running up the stairs two at a time.

When I walk into Rory's room I hear the shower running. I try the door, "Rory?"

It budges and I hear her cries as the water steams up the bathroom, "Why are you here?"

I gulp, "Rory...did he?"

She chokes back a sob and I clench my jaw, "Yes," she stutters.

"Did you already-"

"I already washed."

My heart sinks at the statement.

She turns off the water, "Can you hand me my towel?"

I pick it up from the sink and holding it over the curtain rod for her.

"Where's Izzy?"

"She's at a sleepover."

I sigh, "I'm going downstairs to check on my dad Rory. Do not come downstairs."

She sniffs, "Okay."

When I get down the stairs I see my mom, Rory's mom, and Rory's dad have all arrived.

Her dad and my dad have Dan and Tony pressed against the wall.

"How dare you touch my daughter."

Dan grins in his face, "I've done it more than once."

Her dad moves him to punch him and I step behind Dan and wrap my arm around his neck, her father nods at me and punches Dan in the face, a split second later I bring my leg up between his and give him a swift kick in the balls.

When he falls to his knees her mother walks up to him, "Get out of my house you bastard."

My mother looks at me, "Where is she?"

I gulp, "She's upstairs. She already showered."

My mothers face falls and she shakes her head slowly as my dad punches Tony in the face.

As her mother starts to cry my mother consols her. I notice that my dad and her dad have things under control but it doesn't stop me from walking up to Tony and ripping him from my fathers grip and slamming him against the wall, "The two of you are really lucky the rest of them are here or I'd make sure to kill you."

Dan chuckles and her father grabs onto his neck, "I'm pretty sure you better listen to the young man because I know he's serious."

I press my arm into Tony's neck causing him to choke, "Scum like you don't deserve to live. The only place you need to be is eight feet under ground or in an alley getting eaten alive by rats. You're lucky that I can't kill you right now because I guarantee I'd take my time."

My father grabs onto him and I pull away to head upstairs to Rory.

When I walk into her room I find her looking at herself in her floor length mirror on her closet door. She lifts up her shirt to see she has five branded fingers on her side. I watch her face in the mirror as she takes in the bruising marks.
