Chapter 5

Today Ryder actually did wake me up, by blowing on my neck.

I squeal as I wake up, "Ryder!" I whine.

"Morning sleepin' beauty."

"That tickled," I pout.

He smirks and grips my sides, "That was nothing. Trust me."

As he moves his hands  wince, "Ow!"

He frowns and lifts up my shirt, "Damn!"

I look down to find a bruise, "Oh yeah. Audrey kicked me really hard before we landed on the ice."

He frowns, "How bad does it hurt? That's a nasty bruise Rory."

I shrug, "I hadn't noticed it until you touched it."

"I'm sorry."

I shrug, "It's okay. Hmm I guess we better get ready for the day huh."

He nods, "Yep. Breakfast and packing."

I laugh, "I didn't even stay in my cabin. How sad."

He shrugs, "I think my bed was a better idea anyway."

I roll my eyes, "Of course you do. You're a guy. What guy wouldn't want to share a bed with a girl?"

He smirks, "Well most guys would expect something out of it. But I don't."

"Well that's an interesting thing to see."

I look up to see Trace, "What is?" I frown.

"My best friend leaning over my ex-girlfriend with her shirt up."

"She has a bruise from Audrey. It's right by her ribs."

Trace frowns now and walks over, "Damn why didn't you tell us yesterday?"

I shrug, "It didn't hurt until he touched it."

Trace smirks at him, "Jeez trying to get up her shirt already?"

Ryder smacks the side of Trace's head, "You are such a perve."

The rest of the morning consisted of Trace and Ryder arguing on who was the bigger perve while I got ready. Someone had been smart enough to bring my bag over. So I at least didn't have to walk back to the cabin. I really didn't want to see the inside of it ever again.

I had just walked into the dining hall with Harper and Ryder when I saw it. Audrey and Bryson holding hands and laughing.

"You've got to be kidding me," I mutter.

Ryder frowns, "I thought you told her it was okay?"

I nod, "I did. I just didn't expect her to actually date him."

"Me neither," Harper frowns.

Ryder pulls me into the lunch line, "Just ignore it. If you let it get to you she'll have exactly what she wants. I know how Audrey is. I know she's your best friend but the girl is just messed up."

I frown, "She's just not feeling too good about herself. After you she had three more boyfriends who cheated on her. It's torn her up really bad."

He sighs, "I know. I've heard."

I frown, "You've heard?"

He nods, "Yeah. Even after I was sent away I had girls calling me left and right. A few to bitch me out about Audrey. Even a year later. I guess some guy named Ricky had cheated on her with some freshman."
