Jack's Perspective (Not point of view! There's a difference!):
Jack stood there leaned up against the locker looking like he was sunburned. His mind was flustered with so many different thoughts that he didn't even know what to say. The boy from earlier was standing right in front of him, looking straight into his baby blue eyes with innocence and softness in his own. Finally, the boy broke the silence. "Hey" he said calmly. His voice was so pure and deep that Jack didn't even want to speak. He didn't want the boy to hear his scratchy and just plain messed up voice, but he had to say something. He didn't want to be rude. "H-hi" he managed to squeak out, stuttering a bit. He was afraid that the boy would make fun of him for his scrawny voice, so he tried to hide his face behind the books he was holding. But instead of making fun of him, the boy just smiled softly and pushed Jack's books away from his face. All Jack could do was just scoot into the lockers even more. The lock was pushing into his back, but he just tried to ignore the pain. "I'm Mark" the boy simply said. "Well then, I guess I can't really call him, "the boy" anymore, now can I?" Jack thought to himself. Jack gulped and shyly said, "I-I'm Sean, b-but everyone calls me Jack". Mark smiled softly when Jack told him his name, and Jack just gripped his books tightly. He was so embarrassed that all he wanted to do was just run and hide. "So," Mark said softly, a slight blush appearing on his face. "Uh, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out after school today?" Mark asked sweetly. All Jack could muster was a quiet, "busy". Now Jack was even more flustered than before. "Did he just ask me out?" he thought to himself. Jack mentally shook his head and thought, "No, that can't be it. He doesn't even like me". Jack thought Mark was going to be upset, but instead Mark just smiled softly again and took out a piece of paper. He took out a pen and started scribbling something down, then he folded the paper and handed it to Jack. Jack looked down at the paper, then looked back up at Mark, who was already walking away. But before he left completely, he turned around and gave Jack a small wave. Jack just smiled and waved back at Mark, before looking at the paper again. Now that Mark had completely left the school, Jack could look at what the paper said. He wanted to be alone when he read it, so that's why he waited for Mark to leave. Everyone was already gone, so he was good. He opened up the paper and read it. Jack gasped when he saw what it said.
Call me
(XXX) XXX-XXXX
-Mark ❤Jack hid his face in his shirt and squealed. He actually just got Mark's number. He was so happy that he ran all the way home, eager to call Mark immediately.
As soon as he got home he ran up the stairs to his room. But before he could open his door his dad stopped him. "Hey champ, how was your first day at school?" he asked. "Oh, it was good" Jack responded quietly. "Okay well that's good. Hey can I ask a favor of you?" his dad asked him. Jack nodded and his dad smiled. "Okay, since your mom isn't home from work yet, I need you to watch over the house for me while I go to the grocery store. Can you do that for me?" Jack nodded again and his dad thanked him before walking off. Jack took out the piece of paper but then put it back in his pocket. "I'll call him later" Jack said to himself. He had to worry about the house first. The reason why he had to look over the house is because his dad didn't want anyone breaking in again. The last time they left the house unwatched someone broke in and stole a bunch of stuff. Jack didn't want that to happen again, so instead of calling Mark, he just prepared himself for house-watch duty.
After about five minutes of preparing, locking the doors and windows, arming himself, Jack was sat on the living room couch holding a baseball bat. After about fifteen minutes of sitting in complete silence, Jack heard a knock at the door. He got up from the couch, baseball bat in hand, and headed over to the front door. He looked through the little peephole, and saw that it was his mom. Jack let out a sigh of relief and opened the door. His mom walked inside and shut the door behind her, locking it. "Hey honey, you on house-watch duty again?" his mom asked him with a warm smile planted on her face. "Yeah" Jack responded smiling softly at his mom whilst setting the baseball bat down in the closet. "Well, I guess you don't need to be anymore now that I'm here" his mom said laughing a little while unlocking the windows and doors. "Heh, yeah I guess so" Jack said quietly, putting his hand in his pocket and gripping the paper tightly. His mom looked back at him and asked, "Whatcha got there bud?" pointing to Jack's hand in his pocket, assuming that he had something in there. "Oh, uh, it's nothing" Jack said taking his hand out of his pocket. "Aw come on, I wanna see" his mom said like a little kid. Jack sighed and took out the paper and gave it to his mom. Jack thought his mom would be fine with him calling Mark, until he heard a sigh from her, which made him tense up. His mom handed him back the paper and Jack put it back in his pocket. His mom looked up at him with a worried expression and said, "Jack, sweetie, I'm glad that you made a new friend and all, but have you not heard the stories about him?" Jack assumed she was talking about Mark, so he shook his head. He hadn't heard anything about Mark before, and he didn't even know he existed until he saw him in class today, so he had no idea what she was talking about. "Maybe she's gonna talk about the knife?" he thought to himself, remembering that he saw him at lunch with a knife. His mom sighed again putting her hands in her pockets. "Jack, that boy has done some bad things in his life, and I don't want you to be influenced by him" his mom said, worried that she was going to lose her innocent and precious son to this boy. Jack gulped and said, "L-like what?" stuttering a bit. "Well," his mom said, biting her lip. "It's not anything big, but I don't want you to repeat his actions." Jack let out a sigh of relief, knowing now that Mark didn't freaking kill someone. "Okay, so what did he do?" Jack asked more calmly this time. Then his mom finally told him. "Well, all he does is ditch school and vandalize school property. Which, as I said before aren't really big things, but I don't want you to be influenced by him okay?" Jack realized what his mother meant by being influenced, so he promised her to not copy Mark's actions. His mom thanked him and started walking to her room. But before she left, she said one final thing. "Oh, and by the way Jack, I know you don't want to be rude and all, but can you please stay away from him? Like I said I don't want you to be influenced by him and I'm afraid that if you hang out around him you will be influenced. So can you please just stay away from him?" his mom asked him concernedly. Jack smiled and told his mom, "Of course, as long as it makes you happy." His mom thanked him and went into her room, but as soon as she was out of sight, Jack frowned. Finally, he went into his room and closed the door behind him.
Jack sat on his bed and took out the paper, staring at it wondering if he should call Mark or not. He still liked him, but he didn't want to make his mom upset. Finally he decided that he should just be the bigger person and move on, for his mom's sake. So, instead of calling Mark, he threw the paper away. He didn't want to be mean to Mark, but it was either him or his mom that he had to ignore. And Jack didn't want it to be his mom.
