Mark's Perspective:
When Mark got home he immediately went up to his room and sat on his bed. His parents weren't home yet so he didn't have to worry about them bothering him. He took his knife out of his pocket and placed it in his hiding spot. No one but him knew about his hiding spot, not even Bob and Wade. Mark took out his phone and checked to see if he had any missed calls from Jack. Nothing. No notifications, no nothing. Mark wished he would've gotten Jack's number too, so he didn't have to worry about Jack forgetting to call him. Mark sighed and facepalmed himself, setting his phone down on his nightstand and running his hand through his hair. He decided to just shrug off the fact that Jack hadn't called him yet. After all, there are multiple possibilities as to why Jack hadn't called him. He could be still walking home from school, or he could be doing homework, or something else like that. So, instead of eagerly waiting for Jack to call him, Mark just decided to relax until Jack did call him. So, he pulled out the game "Homeworld" and started playing it.
After about 2 hours of playing the game, Mark decided to turn it off. He checked his phone and saw that he had no missed calls from anyone. No texts either. He sighed and just decided to lay in his bed and wait for his phone to make any kind of noise. He got under the covers and propped his arm on his chest, holding his phone. He stared at the blank screen, hoping for it to light up. But no such luck.
Five minutes went by.
Silence.
Ten minutes went by.
Silence.
Thirty minutes went by.
Complete. Silence.
Mark ended up staring at his phone's blank screen for about an hour before he finally decided to make it light up. He pressed the power button and, nothing happened. He pressed it again. Nothing but a blank screen. He pressed it multiple times, but nothing happened. Mark sighed, finally realizing that his phone was dead. He put his phone on the charger and got up to look at the time on his computer.
4:51PM
"Dang, it's only 4:50?" Mark thought to himself whilst slumping down in his chair. He yawned and ran his hand through his hair, realizing how tired he was. Even though it was only, Mark looked up at his computer screen again,
5:00PM
5:00, he decided it was time for him to go to sleep, considering how tired he was. So, he got into his PJ's and got into his bed, slowly drifting off to sleep. While he was falling asleep though, all he could think about was Jack.
Jack...
Jack...
Jack...
*In the Dreamworld*
Mark shot out of bed, breathing heavily. He held his head, which was now thumping painfully. "Great job Mark, you gave yourself a headache" he scolded to himself, knowing that the headache came from getting up too fast. It soon went away though, and Mark put his hands down. He looked around and noticed that he wasn't in his room anymore. He was in a completely different house. He got out of the bed he was in and looked around the room. There was nothing in it except for the bed. He walked over to the door and heard talking. He put his ear up to the door and listened to what the voices were saying. Then he soon realized who it was. It was Jack and, Mark was just going to assume the woman's voice he was hearing was Jack's mom. He opened the door slightly and peeked through the crack. He saw Jack and his mom having a conversation about something, but Mark couldn't tell what it was that they were saying. He opened the door more and stuck his head out, and listened carefully. But all he could hear were quiet mumbles. He decided to open the door all the way and step out.
