My newly introduced uncle turned out to be just as awesome as the first encounter. He had drove me (And when I say drove I really mean took me there by way of magic. Literally. Poof) back to the castle where he said hello to my mom and Xenia. Nathan and Luke were nowhere in sight which didn't affect me much. Both of the boys would have turned the mood into something sour. I was honestly trying to forget both situations and guys all together.
Now I was sitting across from Xenia in a overly large room staring at myself in the reflection.
"Are you excited for this ball tonight? I can't wait to get all dolled up and meet some princes." Xenia practically purred I laughed at her antics. "But wait, don't you have a thing with Nathan?"
"Oh I didn't tell you? I've been reading this magazine my aunt gave me. She said there are tons of ways to hook a man and one important one is to make him jealous. And I'm thinking a prince will really make him jealous."
I rolled my eyes at her. "I'm sure that will work."
"It will. And you know what else they said?"
"No but I have a feeling you'll tell me."
She ignored me and kept her upbeat tone. "They said the best way to get over an asshole of a guy is to find a new guy."
I looked back at myself in the mirror and frowned. The last thing I wanted to do was fine a guy who is just as bad as Luke. I just needed to get my mind off of him some other way.
"No thanks. Boys in generally aren't exactly my strong suit. I'll just mingle and try to play the part as one of the 'Elemental Children'. I probably have to do twice as much since my brother dearest isn't in the best of moods"
Xenia stopped brushing her hair. "Yeah, he didn't tell me anything about that but I heard the servents talking. It was that bad huh?"
"Worst. And I can't excatly blame him either. He was the one who was always pushing for mom to be there just waiting for us. She was but in a different way. He was expecting love and care. But we don't have time for that."
"Maybe I shouldn't go through with this." She said putting down her brush. "I don't want to hurt him in anyway."
"You aren't. You're just having a little fun. Maybe this is something we all need. We just arrived and there have been issues left and right. I don't know about you but I'm tired of it. Maybe I will go to this party and flirt like you said. What's the harm in that?"
"Absoutely none girl." Xenia winked playfully at me and I laughed. "So you sure about this? Because we really don't have to go. We could... I don't know, train some more if you want?"
I gave her a look that caused her to smile.
She threw a couple of dresses my way, all different lengths and colors. "Well go on a pick one. What color are you going for?"
I felt the different types of fabrics with my fingers. "I have no clue. Something that will make me feel..." I knew the word I wanted to say but should I say it out loud? No, it would only cause a pity party to form. I am so not going there.
"Hot?" Xenia filled I looked up at her and smirked. "Are you saying I don't already look hot?"
"Hm, really think I should tell you the truth?" She countered I gasped and she laughed. "I think you should go with red. Red is always a hot color to wear."
The red dress reminded me of the dress one of my dolls wore when I was younger. The corset top part was crystalizied and sparkled. The bottom half was flowy and out it would go way past my knees but still be short enough to look... well hot.
