I took the strangers hand and his eyes shone gleefully. He pulled me into him and rested his hands on my lower back. He spun me onto the dance floor and I smile. I smiled at him and he returned it.

"I'm happy your boyfriend let me dance with you." He said, he had an Italian accent which wasn't surprising since that was the language spoken here. I could tell that he was gifted by looking into his mixed colored eyes. When I looked closer I could see the golden ring in his eyes.

"He's not my boyfriend." I said trying to keep my angry from flaring again. He would never be.

He seemed amused by this and took my hand with his other hand. "Whatever you say princess. That look definitely revealed something else." I looked anywhere other than this boys face and took in the room. It was vast but seemed smaller with the high amount of bodies that were coupled on the dance floor. It was mainly filled with kids my age it seemed like and the adults either stood on the side or sat down at the round tables that were pushed closer to the wall. The decorations were a mixture of Sweet 16 and a Victorian Ball. Which I guess was nice but I still felt slightly uneasy. I looked back at the boy and he was still grinning at me. "I didn't catch your name." I said. "My name is real name or the name I choose to use?" I remember hearing Xenia's real name. "Uh the name you choose."

"Carter."

Hm, not the name I was expecting but it suited him. He was beach blond and his build, even though it was covered by the suit, I could tell was muscled well. That was a plus.

I took a deep breath. Xenia told me this would be the best thing to do right? Flirt and dance with a guy to get my mind off previous events. So why can't I stop thinking about Luke?

Because I wasn't the one who lied, my mind though angrily. He must have noticed my angry face and his playful expression softened into concern. "What's the matter princess?"

"Nothing. I just have a lot on my mind. Why do you keep calling me that?"

His playful expression resumed its place on his face and he shrugged, spinning me around again. "You've been talked about since I was a child, mia bella," He responded. "It was the topic of every discussion in school and still is. I am honored to be sharing this dance with you." He let go of me to bow and reached for me again. I blushed. Was I really talked about in a world I didn't even know about? "I wish I grew up in this place. It must have been truly magical. No pun intended." He laughed and it was a mystical sound. Like a bell ringing. "It's not that fancy trust me. We have many worries here." I nodded understanding what he meant. Skelos was running amuck in Hellfire. I shivered remembering how it felt to be in his controlling. To feel his power directed to you.

As brave as I may have been it still woke me up at night every day since.

"Do you know why people are disappearing?"

He shook his head. "Not at all. I just know that my friends are missing as the days grow longer. One second they are just themselves and the next something dark overcomes them."

The way he was speaking made me shiver again. He felt it and pulled me in tighter. "It will be fine. I trust you and your family. They have protected us before they will do it once again."

I blinked at him. Why was he so confident that my family wouldn't slip up and do something stupid. I barely trusted certain people in my family. "Why are you so convinced?"

He smiled again, this time it was extremely daunting. "Your uncle is a great healer. Your mother is not only a great warrior but she has tremendous power. She and your father, who is equally as powerful, have already won the war in the past. I know for a fact that your mother has never stopped training since the last battle either. And now we have the 'Elemental Children' on board. I have full confidence that Skelos will be defeated for good this time." He said with a determined look in his eyes. I couldn't help but feel confidence just by hearing his words.
