The trip there was definitely longer than the plane ride here. But, since this is all a brand new territory it is nice to look around at the wild colors around me. Luke leaned over and pointed to a building we were getting ready to pass. "That's my old school. I learned a lot of magic tips in there. Like how to enter dreams." The way he said dreams made me shiver. I remembered that all so well, the dream that was so real and so obviously not. Had people from this world entered my dreams once before just like Luke?
Nathan was practically bouncing in his seat. "This is so awesome! Did you see that tree? I think it moved!"
Xenia rolled her eyes but laughed a long with him. They look they gave each other was so electric that they both stopped laughing and looked away from each other. They were in a limbo of a relationship.
I stared down at my hands fiddling with my fingers. I can't believe I was getting ready to see my mother after all this time. What would be the first thing I would say? I felt like I heaving while I sat down.
Luke flung his arm around my shoulder. His heat made me feel warm and slightly more relaxed. "You're nervous," He observed. "But I promise it's going to be okay, if your mother is so hell bent on seeing you than obviously it will be worth while." I smiled at his efforts but the little annoying 'negative' bug was eating away at me and it made all the excitment turn into worry.
The car/limo we were in curved and came to an erupt stop. My heart pounded in my ears. As we all scrambled out on the car both Nathan and I stepped forward at the same time. We gave each other knowing smiles of endearment.
Xenia's aunt pulled forward. "Okay, you strong boys grab the bags and haul ass towards the castle. We have some very important folk to meet." The driver, who had gotten out the car hesitantly looked at her in awe. She looked back at him. "What? Can't a woman say 'ass' without getting looks?"
When we enterted the castle no one moved or even breathed. Even Luke, who felt nervous about being in the castle again, had a satisfied look on his face as he admired the area. The room we came into was vast and was filled with glassy looking things. Everything was so shiny it was becoming difficult to pull away from. Why do I feel like I'm going to break something?
"This place is even more beautiful than the pictures." Xenia muttered. "You've never been here before?" Nathan asked looking ahead at a large mirror. "Nope, well I think I have when I was younger but otherwise I don't remember much. I just know my parents practically spent most of their days here. It's so beautiful." Her voice cracked like she was on the verge of tears but her face remained composed, giving away nothing.
"Hello all." A sharp yet feminie voice broke into the silence of the room and almost everything shook with power. "Welcome to my home."
A red headed woman who's hair went past her knees, stood at the top of the staircase looking down at us with a geniune smile. She was gorgeous in every sense of the word. I felt her intensely strong power from a few feet away.
"My name is awfully long. For the time being just call me Ava." The way she spoke was gentle almost as if she were caressing me with each word. I quickly started to like her but something about her was holding me back.
Then her clear blue eyes focused on me. "I suppose you wish to see your mother? She is the one who required your assistance. But I, for now, will only allow Nathan and Aria to come along with me. The rest of your friends must stay here."
I looked back at Luke and Xenia who nodded. Xenia pushed me slightly forward. And Nathan and I woked up the steps. Nathan bowed and I cursies. She laughed and the sound rang through the room. "Oh no children, you don't have to do that. This is modern times, even if I've been alive for years." She waved both of us up and turned on her heels down the hall. Nathan gave me a worried look that I returned and we followed her close behind.
