13. "Help with the pain"

Archie ran to Veronica and helped her up as he checked to make sure she wasn't hurt and then they both ran over to Betty and Jughead on the floor. Betty pushed her self of the floor and against the couch while holding her stomach and biting back tears, Jughead then pushed himself up as well and was immediately by his girlfriend's side, completely ignoring the large black and blue bruise forming around his eye. "Oh Juggie look- look at your- eye" Betty managed to get out, still in loads of pain, Jughead ignored her "Betts, I'm- I'm so sorry I cant believe I just did that to you" Jug hated himself in that moment, he knew he hurt her, when she was already so fragile. "Hey you-you did- nothing wrong- Juggie- ow" Betty couldn't help but wince, this was worse than anything she'd felt before, but she couldn't show Jug that. "You- stopped me from getting- punched- in-in- the face"- "But I pushed you down when you already could barley move" Jugs eyes glossed over, Betty went to lift a hand to her boyfriends face but the pain was to much and it immediately drooped back at her side. "Betts, let me see" Jug said reaching for the rim of her shirt, "No, Jug I'm-fine" Betty gasped, "B, please" Veronica whispered from aside her, "Okay" Betty winced. Jughead lifted the rim of her shirt to where the gauze had been placed over her stiches, he gently removed the gauze and Betty could see the panic rush into his eyes, around her stiches were fresh black and blue bruises and the skin was yellow and peeling. "Archie, call her doctor now and ask her what the hell we do and Veronica go explain what Reggie just did to principle Weatherbee and don't come back till they've been suspended" Jughead called out in a panic, both friends did as they were told with no questions asked. "Juggie-it's-okay" Betty whispered, "Betts, I love you, but do not tell me it's okay because it clearly not, you are in tons of pain I can tell" He said on the verge of tears, "I'm going to lift you onto the couch now, I'm really sorry if this hurts, I love you" he said trying to stay calm. Jughead then snaked his arms around Betty and lifted her as gently as possible onto the sofa above, she gasped in pain as Jug set her down and he immediately kissed her cheek and said he was sorry, "Don't-be-stupid" Betty giggled, trying not to show Jug how much pain she was really in. " Dr. Mendes said that it's an infection, happens a lot with people who do to much activity too soon after going through something like Betty's been through" Archie called walking back over to them, "So what can we do to help with the pain" Jughead said as he grabbed Betty's hand, "She said we need to take her home, give her the non-daily painkillers she prescribed, and make sure she gets plenty of rest. She also said to call her if Betty gets worse and she will come by, because we shouldn't move her" Archie finished. "Okay, well we can't exactly carry her home, if we aren't supposed to move her" Jug said "We'll get a wheel chair from the nurses office", and that is exactly what they did.
