"Here's the last bag." I set down the twins' last bag of necessary products onto Jungkook's bedroom floor.
"Why are you putting that in here? The nursery's still here." He frowned at me and finished tying his Puma pants after getting changed into comfy clothes. No, I did NOT stay here as he changed, I just happened to walk in right after he put his pants on.
"The nursery's still here?" I stared at the bag dryly.
"That's literally what I just said." He scoffed.
"Why are you so mad?"
"I'm not mad."
"Jungkook, why are you so mad? Did I do something wrong? And, don't even think of lying to me. I know you're mad, don't you dare deny it. Now tell me what I did."
"..You won't help me with our own children." He looked over at me, not a single expression on my face but the aura of I'm-Pissed was surrounding him.
"You won't.. Help me... With our own children!"
"Stop yelling!" I snapped at him.
"Why?! Is it making you upset?!" He glared, still angrily yelling at me with those lowered eyebrows and veins popping clearly along his skin.
"No." I calmly said, "You're going to give the twins a bad impression. You're scaring them."
His eyebrows slowly returned into their resting place as he realized he was frightening the young infants.
"I'm sorry." He quietly said, crouching down onto the carpet with his face between his forearms.
"Stop." I chuckled, pitying his anger and stress.
"What are we going to do then?" He asked, standing up with his hands in his soft pockets, giving me a look of sadness and faint hope.
"...Not see each other?"
"Do you want that?" I chuckled softly.
"No." I bit into my plump lip, clenching my jaw before letting out another long sigh.
"Just stay strong with the babies. I'm going-"
"Camila, I can't take care of them alone." He hinted at help.
"What do you suggest?"
.
"Ah, Camila! I love seeing you!" Mrs. Jeon screamed with a voice crack, running over to me and hugging me.
"Imo, I was just leaving." I laughed, setting down the heavy object in my hand.
"Aw, that's a shame. Do you need help carrying these out to the car?"
I nodded, "If you don't mind."
"Oh, for god's sake, of course not!" She eye-smiled me and picked up the pink and yellow polka dot bag from the floor, helping me carry out some bags to my car.
"Bye-bye, Sunmi~ Take care of your Eomma, hm?" Mrs. Jeon kissed Sunmi's small hands, causing the little one to giggle in amusement.
I wouldn't call myself a mother. I was never there for any of her birthdays... But I let the name slide.
The drive home was quiet and thoughtful.
Jungkook convinced me to take Sunmi home while he took care of Dannyeol. That was the last thing I wanted to do: Separate twins. But at least we were even and fair. Jungkook lent me a transferable crib that could be easily built anywhere.
I don't know how I'd be able to take care of Sunmi though. I work most of the week and don't have anyone else at the couch. I'll figure it out.
"Here we are~~" I sang quietly, swinging my apartment door open slowly.
"Woah~!" She cutely ran into my apartment, stubby and short.
Her light caramel skin and dark wavy hair was so beautiful. She really resembled Jungkook and I.
"Do you like it?" I smiled, locking the apartment door and wandering into the kitchen.
"Yes." She spoke simply, wandering into the living room quietly to crawl up onto my sofa.
She was quiet and calm most times. But whenever she was away from Dannyeol she would be open and talkative. It surprised me really.
"Are you really Eomma?"
"Technically speaking, yes." I shrugged, returning to the living room with a small bowl of applesauce.
"What does that mean?" She tilted her head slightly the way Jungkook does.
"Nothing." I chuckled, rubbing her chubby cheek with my thumb.
"Where's Danny?" She sucked in her small full lips, staring up at me with her big eyes. She had mono lids, unlike me.
"He's with Jungkook-appa." I answered.
"Oh." She looked down at her small feet and touched her toes.
"Aren't you tired? Do you want to take a nap?"
"Yes." She nodded, again with her simple Korean.
"Ah, really? I never liked taking naps around your age." I laughed.
"I don't like taking naps alone. I nap with Danny." She smiled widely, holding her chubby hands together adorably.
"Do you want to nap together?" I asked.
"Yes, please." She nodded instantly, making me laugh in adore.
"Okay, come on then." I scooped her up into my arms, resting her on my hip as we made our way down my narrow hallway to my cozy bedroom.
"This bed is comfy." She rolled around on my bed, at least 20x smaller than the entire mattress.
It was cute to see such a small being in my home. She was like a miniature half asian version of me. I adored her in every way. I wish I was ready though.
"When is Jungkook-appa and Danny getting back?"
"Later. They're spending time together while you and me can too." I curled up in front of her small body, wrapping the warm blankets over us.
"Okay."
I found myself having a conversation with a three and a half year old, going on and on about her and Danny being the legit greatest of siblings to ever come across. I can't help but just wish... Wish at least I could've been there to see their young memorable moments.
Not to be their mother!-- But at least to be an aunt of some sort.
"Do I have to call you Eomma?" Finally, she asked the question that drew anxiety to my mind.
"..Not if you don't want to. I'd rather you call me Unnie or just Camila. Is that more comfortable?" She nodded and giggled.
After her short laugh, she closed her eyes, getting comfy and falling asleep in a short period of time.
I wasn't tired considering it was at least lunch time, so I just laid there while she was sleeping. At some point I got up to make food for myself and clean my house. I just felt like I had to, strangely.
