Once Upon A Time In Konoha (SasuSaku Fanfiction)

Chapter Four

Morning came by..

Sasuke, Karin, Juugo and Suigetsu are now eating breakfast when..

"Hey boss, I heard from the villagers that there will be a public party for the opening of Konoha's new museum tonight.." Suigetsu informed.

"I already know. That's when we steal the scroll.."

"But how are we suppose to do that, Sasuke-kun?" Karin asked.

"Think Karin. The theme's suppose to be some kind of 'masquerade'.." he said

"Means that we have to wear a mask. No one will recognize us.." Juugo added.

"Exactly."

~At Sakura~

Sakura and Ino were busy watering the flowers in the garden.

"Sakura, you don't need to do this, you're a princess!"

"Ino, I may be a princess but that doesn't mean I can't help you with anything.."

"Suit yourself."

"Change topic, are you excited for the party tonight?!"

"Yeah! I heard that it's 'masquerade' themed!"

"Pretty cool, huh? I suggested it."

"But don't you think it's a little too fancy for an opening for Konoha's museum?"

"Nonsense! Besides, it will exhibit our ancestor's belongings, so that's acceptable.."

"Oh, okay.."

"So, 7:00 pm?"

"Yeah, it will be a lot of fun!"

That night ( 6:37 pm )

"Woah! Ino, you look beautiful!!!!"

Ino was wearing a long violet strap-less gown with floral designs at the top, she wore lavender heels and her hair was in a bun; her mask was violet also.

"You look more like a princess than I ever did!" Sakura exclaimed

{ p.s. Ino is NOT her maid. she is just her right-hand and BFF. She just helps in the palace when needed.}

"Sakura, thanks. You were always the 'simply pretty' types that doesn't need much make up..."

Princess Sakura was wearing a long and plain strap-less pink gown with white gloves; she wore white heels, then let her long and pink hair down; her mask is light pink and with red gems on the side.

"Thanks!"

Then someone knocked at the door of Sakura's room. She opened it and saw an ANBU officer.

"Princess Sakura, Lady Mebuki wants to have a word with you.."

She followed him to her mother's bedroom.

"Sakura, sit down." she said as she sat on the edge of her bed. Sakura did as told.

"Sakura, I know marrying Prince Neji is against your own free will, but be aware that you are doing this for the sake of our country."

"I know mother."

"But even so, I want you to follow your heart."

"What do you mean?"

"My dear daughter, one day you will meet a man whom your heart will fall for. When that day comes, you will have to choose between our country and your own happiness.."

"????"

"Sakura, use your heart in weighing them both. Whatever you decision will be, always remember I will, forever, support and love you."

"????"

( sigh ) "One day my words will all make sense to you."

"Don't worry mother, that day will never come. I assure you, not a man on Earth will have my heart."

"Don't speak too soon, my love."

Mebuki then gave Sakura a gold heart-shaped locket with their family picture in it.

"Mother, you don't ne-"

"No. Whatever happens, I want you to give us even a little room in your heart, your family." Then she wore it on Sakura.

"Mother, thank you. I will always love you and father."

"Go back to Ino, you two are going to be late."

Sakura then kissed her mother goodbye and went back to Ino..
