Chapter Twenty-Seven

So the ANBU guards brought Sakura back to the Hokage's palace. She woke up the next day in her comfortable carnation pink queen-sized bed..

"Princess! Princess! You're back! I'm so happy to see you again!!!!"

The blonde haired girl squealed as she hugged the pinkette immediately once she opened her green emerald orbs to the glory of the morning.

( sigh ) "Ino, for the hundredth time already, call me Sakura.." she plainly stated as she displayed a fake smile.

I'm back.

"Hehe.. sorry, Sa-ku-ra." Ino answered while playfully rolling her eyes.

"It's nice to see you too, Ino."

"Welcome home."

I'm home.. she thought.

..Why?

"H-Hey, is something wrong!? are you feeling okay?!" Ino worriedly asked which made the blossom snap out of her thoughts.

"Huh? Ah, no! No! I'm fine... I'm just.. glad that I'm already home. To where I really belong.."

Sasuke..

"Meow!"

"Oh! Yumi, there you are!" she exclaimed while lifting the white kitten and carrying it in her arms.

"Aww.. He's sooo cute!"

"..She."

"Oops! Sorry, she's so cute." Ino corrected while petting the kitten's snow white fur. "By the way, where'd you got her?"

The princess thought for a moment, and debated with her Inner whether to tell it was a gift from Sasuke or not.

But in the end,

"I just found her on the way here."

She lied.

"Okay.. Still, it's a good thing those dirty kidnappers didn't hurt you while you were unconscious. But even so, it's kinda weird that they just left you like that and didn't took the ransom money."

"Yeah -wait! T-They didn't took the money?!" Sakura was confused and shocked at the same time.

"Well, yeah! Those bastards didn't! I mean, they kidnapped you for two whole weeks and yet they didn't even get the reason why they did so?! Pathetic idiots."

But, why?.. Why didn't Sasuke took the money? Isn't that what he wanted? Could it be-

"Hello? Earth to Princess Sakura!" Ino called as she waved her hands in front of her.

Which made her snap out of it again.

"I'm sorry."

"Enough with this! You're home now.. forget that trauma you got when you were held captive. Plus, we still need to prepare for your wedding tomorrow."

"W-Wedding!?!?!"

"Did you already forgot?! You're getting married to Prince Neji!"

'Pft, anyway, we plan to keep you for two weeks.. two days before your wedding.'

Right. Two days was yesterday..

..damn.

"No. I didn't."

"Okay. Now we need to hurry up, Prin- I mean, Sakura! The gown designer is getting here any minute now!!!"

Sasuke.. why did you have to go?

"Hai."

Sasuke, Suigetsu, Juugo and Karin are now in the Hidden Grass Village to buy the equipment needed for their next target scroll.

"Sasuke-sama, are you okay?" Juugo asked.

Truthfully, the three were not used to seeing their leader so pale before. Dark circles were now visible under his eyes from the lack of sleep the other night.

He seemed so lifeless and empty..

But of course, they know the reason why.

"I'm fine. Let's just get going." the raven replied as they entered a random weapon shop.

When they reached the counter,

"Good morning sirs and ma'am! My name is TenTen, the daughter of the owner of this shop. What can I get you travelers?"

"Just give us a set of Number 12 Shurikens, please." Suigetsu said while winking at her.

"Okie dokie! One set of sharp and fine Number 12 Shurikens, coming right up!" TenTen said as she left to get their order.

"Hey boss! Don't be so upset!! There's a lot of ladies around, and plus you're a 'chick magnet', so it wouldn't be that hard to find Princess Sakura a replacement!!!"

The white-haired man tried to cheer the Uchiha up as TenTen came in with the set of shurikens..

"...And so what, if Princess Sakura is getting married to Prince Neji tomorrow!! It's not the end of the world!" he trailed off which caught TenTen's attention.

"N-Neji-kun?!" she exclaimed as she dropped the box containing the blades.

"E-Excuse me sir, but can you repeat what you have just said?" she asked attentively.

"Oh, sure! 'Boss! It's not the end of the world!'"

SLAP!

"Oww!!! Crap! Karin!!?!"

"Baka, fish-face!! She was talking about the wedding!" Karin stated while adjusting her eye glasses.

"What? Tsk. Fine. ..'And so what, if Princess Sakura is getting married to Prince Neji tomorrow'.. there! Happy?!"

"N-Neji-kun...why??"

Neji-kun?

"Hn. TenTen, do you happen to know this Prince Neji Hyuuga?" Sasuke finally asked.

"Y-Yes.. I do know him. More than you could ever imagine.."
