Hunger Games - I Volunteer!

coming off the plane me and Peeta were separated

"what where are you taking him? Peeta!" i called but my cries where ignored. i was examined vitals and everything then i was washed and before being dressed. i was met by Haymitch.

"Haymitch where's Peeta" i asked

"you won't see him till your interview with Ceaser. Now come on we need to talk" he lead me away and to the roof top of our pent house.

"Lilly they're not happy with you" he told me as i tucked some hair behind my ear.

"who?"

"the game makers not to mention President Snow"

"humm and what possible reason have i given for them not to like me?"

"you showed them up" i laughed

"I'm serious Lilly. they don't take these things lightly" i stopped

"Haymitch there was no way one of us was going to leave the other. so i saw no other choice" i argued

"i know that, he knows that but you have to make sure others know it. you burying Rue was a sign of rebellion now show them no infact tell them that life without him isn't worth living."

"rebellion she was my ally and was too young to die as for Peeta it isn't Haymitch I've spent five year not doing anything or saying anything after he helped me and my family there is no way I'm letting go of him" he nodded

"thank you by the way...for your help"

 i was in the dressing room with Cinna who had made me look beyond stunning.

"thank you Cinna" he smiled gently at me as i wrangled my fingers he took my shoulders.

"don't worry you'll seen him soon enough " i laughed nervously

"easy for you to say when unlike me when I've just been told that i started a rebellion with two innocent acts and as usual you've outdone yourself" i smiled

"you need to look pure and innocent for the extra effect as for the rebellion i could think of no one better " there was a knock on the door which meant it was time. i sighed and walked out then was guided to the stage.

"now ladies and gentlemen what you have all been waiting for one of the two victors of this year's hunger games... Lilly Hawthorne!" the crowds cheered i sighed making my way on with a smile. they we're cheering my name Ceaser kissed my hand and we sat down.

"Welcome, Welcome back Lilly. now before we bring out our male victor tell me how are you feeling?"

"right now I'm anxious but i think after Peeta's out all should be good." i smiled

"well let's not prolong it any longer ladies and gentleman please welcome out the 74th Annual Hunger games victor....Peeta Mellark!" the cheered and i looked to see him coming out i grinned and got up running over and jumping into his arms. he swung me around and put me down taking my hand and leading me back to the chairs.

"that must have been a relief for you two not seeing each other since the plane" Ceaser started

 "you have no idea i think not having her burst into my room wracked with nerves unsettled me" i chuckled crossing my legs

"yeah it took all my strength not to run heels or none just to have him say i will be fine" the crowed awhed

"so Lilly we all saw your reaction after it was announced  that two people from the same district could win. how did you feel when you found Peeta with a lethal wound."

"to be honest my heart stopped i looked high and low for him after the whole tracker jacker incident especially when he said he was right behind me and wasn't. Only to find him hurt so. it was one of those rare moments i was terrified not for me but him." i held out my hand and looked at him.

"i couldn't imagine life without him" Peeta lifted my hand to his lips as the crowed melted

"and what about you Peeta"

"what can i say...she save my life"

"we saved each other"

"ladies and gentlemen district 12 star crossed lovers this year's victors of the 74th Annual Hunger games" everyone cheered and we stood then waved at them before leaving.
