Release

Hot tears burned my cheek as they fell

My lips cracking, leaving behind pain

Thunder began to roar, lightning striking the ground

But I continued to walk forward

What I saw changed me forever

It made me think about all the things you said

All the lies you told

You hid her from me

Making me believe that I was the one you loved

I felt like a knife was being twisted in my chest

Creating a bigger hole in my heart with each turn

But I could not bleed out

So I just walked

Until my feet began to stumble, and my knees grew weak

And once I hit the ground

The rain began to fall

And the screams leaped from my mouth

Echoing through the town

I released what needed to be let free

My pain danced in the street, right in front of my eyes

My vision was blurred, and all I could hear was drops hitting the earths floor

Nothing else mattered

I had to love me now

Something you didn't know how to do
