Chapter 8✨

"Sure",I said

"Do you hate me? ", she asked.
OK seriously I was slightly taken aback. "Hate"wasn't the word I was expecting.

"No" I replied.

"Are you angry with me? "She asked, confidently.

Oh yes I am. Pulling away from me like that wasn't nice of you, I thought.

"Nope" I replied, trying to keep my composure and feign sincerity.

"Then why do you act like this towards me? Why are you so distant with me?" she asked, confidently again. I love her confidence.

OK back to the question, what the hell am I supposed to say? She started it. We would have been great friends if she wasn't acting strange.

"How am I distant? "I asked, amused at the anger I was already seeing in her eyes.

"Like we don't talk to each other and we've been in the same class for as long as I can remember. We are graduating soon Mr. "she replied.

We don't talk? Really? But I'm just being me 😉

"Wow, I don't know what to say"I replied, loving how I was getting on her nerves. Kikiki

"Just say something" she blurted out.
God knows it took every ounce of my strength to remain sober. Come on, I was basically laughing inside. 😂😂. Her face tho!!

"What was your question again?" I replied, enjoying the anger that was already evident in her voice.

"My question was why do you treat me differently? Like the way you act towards me is so mean"she replied, anger seeping out from her voice.

All these while, I was leaning on the rail of the veranda, looking straight ahead. As soon as she asked the question, I turned to look at her, already planning of saying something which would make her furious when I became tongue tied.

Honestly speaking, I'd never seen anyone so beautiful when they were angry. I mean just seeing Emily like that made my knees weak. She looked so cute that I became utterly speechless. I just kept on staring at her. Realizing this, I thought of something quick to say to her- which wasn't quick at all.

"Say something!! If you want us to keep acting like babies then tell me!! You are stepping on my patience right now. Look, we are matured now and I -"

"I have something to do" I replied and walked out of her. She actually shouted at me? Like who does that?? No one.... I repeat no one shouts at me except my dad!! Who does she think she is?? 😠

Anyways, I walked back to class already predicting Emily will never talk to me again. And honestly I didn't care.I was right. For days we didn't talk to each other. Even when we passed , we acted like there was nobody there. And she didn't even apologise to me for shouting at me. And yet they say guys are complicated. Well girls are the complicated ones. Why do I even care?

One sunny afternoon during recess, I went to get something from my friend in the other class. The chemistry class we just had was so boring I almost dozed off. When I came back, I saw Emily reading a novel. She looked so cute. Acting on impulse, I walked over to where she was and covered her eyes with my palms certainly anticipating some trouble. I momentarily forgot about our beef. What she said next stunned me..

"Hope you've delivered my message to Nathan? You know he lives on love and he'll die the moment I stop confessing my love for him".

What the hell? Love? Die? I just couldn't hold my laughter. Immediately she finished speaking, I dropped my hands on her shoulder and she turned to look at me.

"Smiling" was the only reaction i deemed fit for this occasion. I was laughing inside to an extent that the corners of my mouth started hurting me. The look on her face was so funny. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was ajar. She looked so 😂😂😂.....shocked!!! I thought she was going to slap me tho.

"Hey" I said.

"Hi" she replied.
OK so what now?

"So you're reading? " I asked. Yeah, such a stupid question.

"Yes" she replied back, regaining her composure.

"Ok read on howdy" I said before realising what I just said. Howdy?? Where did that come from? Too much embarrassment here. 😂😂

Unable to go back to my seat, I left the class to have some air. So Emily likes me? Or does she think I like her? What message actually? Well whatever it is, i hope she doesn't think i like her. She's certainly not my type....Nah. 😂😂

But girls are so strange. Come to think of it, how much more effects do i have on other gurls? 😉😉
