Chapter 5-Vengence is Mine

Vince Lee POV

"98, 99, 100!" I shouted. I jumped from the floor. My arms are aching after doing push-ups. I then mark the days in a small journal. "Day 1,156. I am doing my best to be buff for Riley. I know that she longs for me in bed." I smile as I look at a picture I have of Riley. Although it has been 3 years, I miss her every day and hope that she will see me here. one day. "Dude, she's probably banging that DA. Didn't they marry already?" My cellmate said. "I refuse to believe it." Then, I hear the warden yell, "Wake up, ladies! Courtyard time!" The doors open and everyone files in a line. As I hear everyone talking over others, I slowly walk towards the courtyard. I step outside and feel the hot sun warming my body. I am normally by myself and sit on the benches. I stare on the outside fence, looking at the many cars that pass by. "Lee, you ever have visitors?"  One guy asked me. "No. My family has disowned me. I have no one." He chuckled at me and said, "What about that girl you're so obsessed over?" My heart fluttered. "Riley?" She's amazing. I still love her. I want her. I only wish I was close to her." Then, I hear a car screeching. Two people walked out. A tall and fit man with a small and petite woman. "Fucking shit! I am out for an hour and people are fucking up shit left and right!!" The woman quickly rushes to hold the man and says, "Darling, please! Calm down. I'm here." She tiptoes to hug him and kiss his cheek. I then widened my eyes when I saw who it was. "You're right, Riley. I'll be calm." He holds her close and kisses her lips. It was DA Charlie Phoenix and my girl, Riley. "Come with me and I'll be calm. I'll protect you." They hold hands and walk into the prison. I needed to get back inside! I NEED TO SEE RILEY!

Riley Ann POV

I walk with Charlie into the prison, scared of the men I see. I am patted down and searched in case of any misdoings. After this, we walk along the side and see the prisoners. Many of them were threatening Charlie and catcalling for me to look. "Hey, baby! Come to my cell! I'll show you a BETTER time!!" I held onto Charlie for dear life. He smiled at me and brought me closer to him. "You're safe with me, love." He whispered to me. I smiled. Another prisoner was attempting to flirt with me and I ignored him. I even flipped the We proceeded to the holding cells and interrogation room. Daniel Price was the prisoner Charlie was going to interview. He had been arrested for burglary and conspiracy to commit murder. He was sentenced to 15 years and has now revealed that he was blackmailed and forced to commit the act. Charlie and I were assigned to this case and now he has decided to confess in hopes of receiving a shorter sentence. "Mr. Phoenix, thank you for meeting with me," Daniel said. Charlie looked annoyed but was willing to listen to him. As the interview was underway, I began to feel sick. My head was spinning and my stomach was doing flips. I don't know if it was nerves or plain sickness. "I need to step out," I whispered to Charlie. "Are you okay? I can back later, Riley." Charlie said with concern in his voice. "I'm just feeling dizzy. Finish this first, please." Charlie kissed me on the mouth and I walked out. I sit in the hallway and begin to chew on some gum. I then begin to pace up and down. I then ask the guard where the restrooms were at. I then go to the bathroom and wash my face. I shudder because I feel so nervous. As I dry my face, I am pushed into the wall and I have a knife held up to my throat. "HELP!" I scream. My mouth is covered by a hand and I look to see who is holding me hostage. "Hello, Riley. Miss me?" The voice hissed. It was Vince. He was going to kill me and my unborn child.
