Vince Lee POV

The old couple had dropped me off at a hotel in Boston. I felt bad for taking advantage of them but I need to survive somehow. I snuck into the hotel, undetected. The news had my image all over and I needed to be hidden away. I go upstairs to one of the upper levels and stay there. "Did you hear about the escaped convict? He's back in Boston!" one of the maids exclaimed. I hid along the wall and listened in. "That poor girl! I heard that she and her dashing husband went to the prison and he attacked her!" "Greta, where do you hear these stories?" the other maid asked. "It was reported by the local newspaper after the Warden made a statement of his escape. Look it up, Brian Williams." The other maid looked shocked. Her sarcasm reminded me of Riley. How I long to be near her. The maids leave and leave one of the doors open to an empty room. I walk in and set down my belongings. The bed was made and there were six-count Spunkmeyer Chocolate Chocolate Chip muffins and the fridge was stocked with soda and water. I relaxed a bit on the bed and begin to sleep.

Two Hours Later

I woke up, with sirens screaming from the streets. I jumped from the bed and walked over to the window. The cars were passing up the hotel. I sighed heavily and knew that I had to get a move on. I packed my clothes in a backpack, stuffed some sodas and water along with the muffins. I made the bed, washed my face, and left the room. I saw a maid's cart and took some towels, travel-size toothbrush and paste, and more muffins. I snuck out the same way I snuck in and left. I walked along the streets and carefully watched for any cops. I quickly ran towards an alley and counted how much money I had. The couple had loaned me $100 and I intended to try to keep that money. I keep it close to me and then I continue walking from the alley. After walking for quite some time, I sit at a bus stop. I am by myself and I snack on a muffin. I then see several people heading my way and I start walking away. I continue walking to a nice neighborhood and I see that there is a home that is alone. I walk up to the home and see that there is a note.

"We have left the key under the mat and the security number for the alarm is 9856473LK. The cat is fed and she likes naps. Thank you so much, Viviana."-Horace and Minerva

Thank you, Horace and Minerva. I grab the key and I open the door. The home looked nicely decorated and clean. I hear the tinkering of a bell and I looked to see a small cat, meowing for attention. I pick the cat up and see his nametag. "Star-Lord". I smiled briefly. The cat kept meowing as I would pet him. He then jumped from my arms and went to the couch. I then sit on the couch and grab the remote. I flick the channels and come to a TCM and begin watching some movies. I stayed there until I was hungry. I walk to the kitchen and see that there was some food left that I assume Minerva made for Viviana. I grabbed a sandwich and water. I plopped on the couch and watched some TV. Star-Lord snuggled up next to me and purred quietly. I was glad to have found shelter and soon, I'll be seeing Riley and I will have her in my arms.
