Chapter 39

|| Y/n's POV ||

I woke up this morning getting ready for school and the only person on my mind was Mal. I couldn't believe she cheated on me. It had to have been a dream. I remember just crying myself to sleep last night.

When stuff like this happened, I had Alex. I have no Alex. I don't want to bother Lauren or Kehlani because they are both already stressed out and going through stuff.

Grabbing my bag, I walked downstairs and told Lauren I was walking to school. " Y/n you know I can take you right?" She says. " Yeah but I rather walk today. I love you." She nods saying I love you back.

I really just needed to clear my head. It's gonna be hard to focus today. Mal cheated on me again. Am I not enough for her?! What if she really didn't need someone " underage" like she said last time.

As I was walking I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone yelling my name. I stop and turn around to see Danna running towards me. " Hey, I thought you had earphones in or something so you didn't hear me." Danna says out of breathe." Sorry I was just thinking." I say as we continued to walk.

We made small talk arriving at the school about 10 minutes later. I see Nicki and Lizette talking and of course, Nadine makes her way over. I wasn't really in the mood to talk to anyone.

// Time Skip //

It's lunch and we were all outside at a bench. The girls all started a conversation and I decided to just scroll through my phone not wanting to engage.

I see a picture of Mal as I'm scrolling through Instagram and I feel my eyes watering.I feel a hand on my thigh and look down to see Danna's hand. " Hey are you ok?" She whispers as the girls are still talking.

I just nod not trusting myself to say anything. " You know you can always talk to me."Still not trusting myself I just nod. " You wanna walk around and talk about it?" For some reason I nodded yes.

Usually I would only want to tell Nicki first but, Danna's here so why not. I trust her.We stand up telling the girls we're going for a walk. We walked in silence until we got to the field.

We sat at the very top of the bleachers. " So what's going on kiddo?" Danna asks and I didn't say anything. I took a deep shaky breathe." Mal, She- she cheated on me... again." I say barely above a whisper.

I knew she heard me. She wrapped her arms around me. " Aww, it's ok. I hope Mal realizes what she just gave up. Don't mope over her. You're amazing."I broke down. I cried. All the tears I've been holding in all day came out. " I guess I wasn't good enough for her." I say in between sobs.

" No. You're more than enough. You're absolutely perfect. She's missing out on the most amazing girl anyone could ever ask for. Anyone would be lucky to have someone like you in their life. Plenty of people are dying to be with you right now and she just let go of the best thing she could ever have in life."I look up at Danna and give her a weak smile.

I swear I saw a little tinkle in her eyes. She continued to talk to me and ditched her 6th period to stay with me. I don't have a 6th period so I was free." Danna, you sure you won't get in trouble?" I ask her as we walk around. " Yeah I'm sure. If I do, it's fine. It won't be the first time." She tells me.

|| Danna's POV ||

I couldn't help but to stare at her. After we made out that one time, I slowly started gaining feelings for her. I see why everyone is so attracted to her.

She's amazing.The fact that Mal cheated on her pisses me off. Who would ever cheat on someone as amazing as her. Nadine and Mal need to realize what they both gave up.I decided to ditch my 6th to be with her. I was going to tell her how I felt but that wouldn't be smart.

She literally just got out of a relationship last night. She's too hurt right now. That's not ok.We hung out until it was time to get ready for practice.

At practice I could barely focus. She was going complete beast mode during our scrimmage. She scored 2 goals. I see she really is the daughter of Alex Morgan. It shows in how she plays.As we were heading to the locker rooms I stopped her. " Do you wanna maybe hang out? Maybe to take you're mind off of everything." I ask nervously. " Yeah, just come to my house in about an hour." I nod letting her go in the locker room. Let's hope I don't embarrass myself.

|| Y/n's POV ||

I went home straight after practice. I checked my phone and I saw text messages from Mal. I ignored them of course because I could care less to talk to her.I told Lauren about Mal because Alex isn't here and she's busy. I usually always tell Alex stuff like his but I can't. She told me to wait until tonight.

I cleaned my room up to get ready for Danna.Lauren was having he girls over and I didn't really want to be around all of them. Especially with Danna because they'll start questioning me.

My phone dings and it's Danna.

Danna ⚽️😈: I'm hereeeee

Me: I'm coming down rn 😊I run downstairs nearly tripping.

" Baby be careful please." I nod at Lauren and open the door. " Hi." I say to Danna letting her come in. " Hi Lauren." Danna says as Lauren waves back at her." Mom were going up to my room. Please don't be too loud with the girls." She nods giving me a thumbs up.

We head upstairs and Danna and I get on my bed.We ended up watching movies together and after a while got bored. We started asking each other questions getting to know each other even more.

I didn't think about Mal the whole time until her name popped up on my phone.Mallory is calling...I took the emojis off and just changed her name to Mallory. Danna looked at my phone screen. " Are you gonna answer that?" I looked at her. " I don't know." Danna grabs my phone and presses the power button to silence the phone.About 10 minutes later I was tickling Danna.

We started play wrestling and it turned into a tickle match. She flipped me over pinning me onto my bed. I was a laughing mess. " Da-Danna!" I said laughing uncontrollably." Tell me I'm better than you at soccer." I continued laughing. " I'd be lying and I'm not a liar." She continued tickling me. " Ok ok! You're better than me at soccer." She let go.

" Danna, lets be honest I'm better than you." She rolls her eyes as I sit against the headboard of my bed.She sits next to me and we're closer than usual. I turn to see her staring at me." What?" I ask with a confused face.

The sparkle was back in her eyes. I'm pretty sure that meant nothing.She looked at her phone and slowly got up. " I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow." I nod getting off the bed. She put her shoes on and we headed downstairs. We said hello to the girls and I walked Danna out.

" Thanks for cheering me up." " No problem." She hugs me and gets in her car.

|| Danna's POV ||

I got home and immediately called Lizette. " Hello?"" Lizette, it's really bad."" What are you talking about?""Y/n. It's really bad."" I'm still lost."" My feelings for her. They got worst. I like her so much."" But she's with Mal."I got silent. Should I tell her they broke up? Nah, that's not my business." Well yeah but, ugh. She's so cute and I don't know what to do."
" Be distant with her. It's the best thing to do. You'll lose feelings. Trust me." Lizette says. I don't know why, but I agreed.
