Chapter 36

|| Y/n's POV ||

I was at practice right now wrapping up when Coach brings us all in a semi circle around him.

" So, there is a Girls Soccer Leadership Conference. Girls from all over will be there. 2 girls are chosen from almost each school. "All the girls started looking at each other smiling. " It's in Sacramento. So I have the two girls they picked to go."

We all waited and listened intently for what Coach has to say next." Morgan and Alvarez. You'll be going to Sacramento to attend." All the girls clap as he hands us liability packets for our parents to sign. I get home and Alex is here with Lauren." Hi moms!" I say. I go and lay my head on Alex's lap as I lay on the couch.

" How was practice?" Alex asks looking down at me. " It was good. Oh! I got something." I say sitting up. I grab my bag and pull out the paper for Sacramento.Before I could even hand Alex the paper she handed me something. " Whats this?" I ask.

I open it and it's a paper with Alex's name and signature." Legal Guardian of Y/n Morgan."" Alex, you're really a legal guardian now?" She nods smiling and I jump into her lap. " Finally! What took you so long?! But look. Nadine and I have been selected to go to the leadership conference thing!"

" That's great baby!" Lauren says. She gets up to take a call and my phone rings. I smile seeing it's Mal.

" Hi Mallory." I say smirking.
" Don't ever say that again please."
" Sorryyyy. But what's up?"
" Nothing I miss my girlfriend. "
" Babe you barely left a few days ago." I say rolling my eyes.
" I know but that's a few days without your kisses, your cuddles, giving you hickey's, giving you hickey's in places no one sees." She trails off the end.
" Mallory. Stop being a hornball."
She chuckles in the phone and I die at how cute she sounds.
" Ooh Mal, I have to tell you something!"
" What is it?" She asks and I could tell she was worried.
" Its nothing bad. I'm going to Sacramento for this soccer leadership thingy!"
" Really?! I'm so proud of you. You're gonna be all alone though." I can tell she's pouting on the other side of the phone. I stay quiet. If I tell her who's going with me she'll flip and want to go.
" Y/n/n, what else do you have to tell me?"
" Umm....Nothing."
" Babe."
" Ok fine. Nadine is going too."
" Nadine! Why'd they pick her?!"
" She's good at soccer. Amazing actually not gonna lie. But you don't have to worry about anything. I think you've scared her enough times. She won't try anything."
" She better not or I'll fly to Sacramento and kick her ass."
I laugh and for the rest of the night continued talking to Mal until I dozed off.

// Time Skip //

I landed in Sacramento and we just arrived at the hotel. Tonight was a group dinner and of course, they assigned me with Nadine. I just took a shower and was applying a little bit of make up." You know, you don't need make up right?" Nadine comments. " Ha, Thanks. But I do. " I smile. " No, you're beautiful without it." I just nod continuing to put on lipstick.

We headed down to the room together to go get food. There were tons of girls here. Everyone was talking and getting to know each other. I met some girls, some from Orlando.

They told me Alex was their favorite player.I made my way around the room. Starting conversations with some girls. Exchanging numbers and social media. Surprisingly a lot of them love my mom and Tobin.

A few told me they liked Kelley and Mal. Just hearing her name made me blush and think about her. I miss my girlfriend.

|| Nadine's POV ||

I watched as Y/n interacted with all the girls here. She was so beautiful. " You must like her." I jump slightly startled. " Um..." She puts her phone to the side of her. " Sorry, how rude of me. I'm Jessica." I shake her hand. " Nadine." She nods." So, do you know her?" She says nodding her head in the direction of Y/n. " Yeah. Who doesn't?" She chuckles.

" I meant like personally." " Oh yeah, same school. Same team."" You like her?" I look at Y/n. " Yeah. But she has a girlfriend." I mumble. " Missed your shot I see." " I had a shot. We dated for a year and a half. I fucked up."" Let me guess... you cheated on her?" I look at Jessica.

" How do you know that?" She laughs. " Not to be rude but, you look like a cheater." I gasp slightly offended." Well yeah. I regret it. Now every time I look at her, I just think about how much I messed up and how much I miss her. She was anything you could ever want in a girl. She was so sweet. She didn't deserve what I did. She's beautiful."Jessica just nods.

I let out a sigh. I can't help but to reminisce about us. " Don't give up. You never know what's going on with her and Mal. You might still have a chance. Were you her first love?" I nod.

" Well, from my experience, they never let go of their first loves. In media, I saw some stuff about her and Mal being a little bumpy. I would say go get your girl back."

That's all it took. Some motivation.I'm gonna get my girl back. I still love her and I know she still loves me too. I walk over to her.

" Hey sorry to interrupt but Y/n Can I talk to you?" She nods and says she'll be right back to her group of friends.We go outside and I suddenly feel my palms get sweaty. I've never been this nervous.

She's always been the only girl to make me feel all jittery and bubbly inside. I had butterflies just erupting inside." What's up Nadine?" She says concerned. " Um I have to talk to you. It's important." She sits down and I take a seat next to her. A slight gap between us. Here goes nothing.
