|| Danna's POV ||

I was not trying to go to school today. I was following what Lizette said and distancing myself from Y/n. Last week, Mal broke up with her so I was there but, I can't do that.I'm hurting myself. Stupid heart. I wish that I could leave my heart out of this. I walked into school and saw Nicki talking to Lizette.

" So you like Y/n?" Nicki says as I approach them. She caught me off guard." What?!" I ask. " You like Y/n. It's totally fine if you do. She has a girlfriend though." Nicki tells me. I look at Lizette. I pull her away from Nicki.

" Why did you tell her?!" I ask slapping her arm." I had to. She's Y/n's best friend. This might be an advantage for you." Lizette tries to make me feel better.

" No, remember. I'm trying your plan to distance myself from her."" You can still stick to that. Nicki isn't going to say anything unless you give her the ok to do so. So stop freaking out." Lizette turns and walks away from me. I turn around trying to head to my class when I nearly bump into Y/n." Hey Danna!" She says excitedly.

" Hi." I say quickly walking around her. I looked back a little bit to see her standing there with a confused look on her face.|| Y/n's POV ||" Hey, guys, do you know what's up with Danna? She's been acting weird all day." I ask the girls in the locker room.

" Nope." They all say at the same time. Danna walks in the locker room and I go up to her as the girls start to exit." Hey Danna Can I ask you something?"I say fiddling with my fingers. She nodded. " Are we ok? You've been acting weird all day and you're barely talking to me. Did I do something?"

" No. Of course not. I've just been really busy with school work. My mom doesn't want me to fall behind in classes." I just nodded biting my lip. This is a habit. I need to stop." I'll see you on the field." Danna says walking past me. Somethings not right.

I don't wanna ask anymore questions because what if it's something serious.

// Time Skip //

I got home and took my shower and someone calls me. Finally! The person I've been waiting to talk to.

Mommy ⚽️💜 is calling...
" Mom you're alive!" I say immediately.
" yeah I am. I won't be able to hear if you yell in my ear again." She says lightly laughing.
" I miss you. You're so busy now." I say pouting. I'm acting like such a child.
" Yeah I know. I'm sorry. But what's up? You said you had something to tell me the other day."
" Oh yeah. Uhh..." my lip starts to quiver. I still can't think about Mal without almost crying." Mal and I broke up." I say quietly.
" What?! Why?! What'd she do?!"
I knew she was going to go complete mom mode and assume Mal did something.
" She cheated on me again." I say letting the tears roll down my face.
" My poor baby. Do you need me to fly to California? What do you want? What do you need?" She asks concerned.
" No no. You can continue working. I don't wanna pull you away. It's just, I can't believe she would do this to me again. She saw what happened last time. I guess I just wasn't good enough. I don't know what I did wrong." I say letting out a long shaky breathe.
" you didn't do anything wrong. She cheated. She did that on her own. She knew what she was doing."
" I miss her. Is that bad?"
" No. you two loved each other I'd expect you to miss her. But, Mal better watch her back."
" Mom don't hurt her please."
" I'll try not to. Now I have to go but I'll call you later pumpkin. I love you."
" I love you too."I collapse onto my bed looking up at the ceiling. Mal, where did we go wrong.

I was at practice right now and I still can't think straight. Seeing Holly makes me feel guilty. Seeing Y/n makes me sad. I knew what I was doing. I shouldn't have hurt her like that. She's amazing.Y/n was anything you could ever hope for and imagine.
