Dua's POV
"Hey." I say as I rock on my heels back and forth. "Hi Dua." We stood there in an awkward silence. she looked behind her and Alex was in another store.
"How've you been?" She asks. "I've been alright. Just working. You know, the usual. How about you?"
"Same here." She replies with a smile.
"So anything new?" I ask. She just smiles.
"I'm getting married." She says showing me her engagement ring.
"Oh, you're getting married." I say with a hint of sadness in my voice. "You know I actually have to get going Y/n. I'll see you around."
She nods and I wave bye.
Y/n's POV
That was the most awkwardest moment of my life. I walk into the store with Alex and she's talking to the lady that works here. I decide to text Mal and tell her about my encounter with Dua.
To Wifey 😘💍:
Babe, guess who I just ran into?!
Wifey 😘💍:
It wasn't me 🙄
To Wifey 😘💍:
I'd be more excited if it was you 😂
To Wifey 😘💍:
I saw Dua babe
Wifey 😘💍:
No. Stop right there. Why are you or were you around her?!
To Wifey 😘💍:
Babeeee I just bumped into her
To Wifey 😘💍:
I'm with my mom shopping 🙄 don't worry it was awkward anyways and we're getting married you're the only girl I'm worried about 💗
To Wifey 😘💍:
I love you 😘😘
Wifey 😘💍:
I love you more 😘
I slide my phone in my pocket and return to dress shopping with my mother. "What about this one?!" She asks.
I cock my head to the side and look at her. "That looks exactly like your prom dress. I'm getting married not going to prom."
"Who were you talking to outside?" Alex asks. It catches me off guard. "Just Dua."
Alex pauses. "Dua? As in your "ex" girlfriend?" I nod. "We just talked. That was it. I told Mal about it as well." I say.
Dua's POV
It's been about a week since I saw Y/n and I haven't been able to think straight. I thought I was getting over her when I really wasn't. She is everything anyone could want and need.
Instead of going out and getting drunk to escape my thoughts and feelings I decided to go to the place I feel most comfortable. I went to the studio.
I grabbed a notepad and a pencil and sat on the couch. I was eating some snacks and tapping my pencil against the pad. I decide to look in my laptop for some beats that I saved.
My phone buzzed and I ignored it. I glanced at it just looking at the time. Wow. It's 3 in the morning. Out of nowhere, I just started writing. As I started writing, I started crying. It was therapy. I was letting out what I wanted, what I needed to say. I wasn't going to let this song be held in.
It's been a tough few weeks for me. Months. I miss her touch.
Y/n's POV
It was just after practice and I collapsed on my bed. I miss Mal. She was at some event for Nike. I decide to go on Apple Music and I see Dua posted a new single.
"Thinkin' Bout You"
I press play and it starts.
3 A.M. and my neighbors hate me
Music blasting, shaking these walls
This time Mary Jane won't save me
I've been working later, I've been drinking stronger
I've been smoking deeper but the memories won't stop
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't get high, I can't get by, I can't get through
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
Like poison coursing through me
So clear my vision is blurred
The haze won't put my mind at ease
I've been sleeping later, I've been breathing stronger
I've been digging deeper but the memories won't stop
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't get high, I can't get by, I can't get through
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I want you all
Say it before you run out of time
I want you all
Say it before it's too late
I want you all
Say what I am feeling now
I want you all
Waiting is insane
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't get high, I can't get by, I can't get through
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
I can't get high, I can't get by, I can't get through
I can't stop thinking 'bout you
