Lucas comes in as he hears Sammy and me laughing. I don't think he knows what he's in for.
He walks down the hall towards our living room where we are, just barely shielding is from his for a short time. "Hey Savann- AAH!" He started to say as he finally sees the flying vase, being alarmed by the random flying object that, generally, should not be. That's when we see him, and being startled, I drop the vase and it lands on the couch.
I glance at a worried Sammy as Lucas falls backwards to the ground. He points to the empty air where the vase was once floating, his eyes on the vase, and almost yells, "Th-that was just floating! In m-midair!" I inch towards him with my hands in front of me and start, "It's not what it looks like!"
"Well it looks like you have some sort of- of... superpower or something!" He half yells, half questions, obviously still panicking.
"Ok so it's exactly what it looks like. But hey, I'm not dangerous!" I reply.
I watch as his facial expression shifts over the next minute as he takes in the situation. The emotions of fear, confusion, more confusion, and finally acceptance are obvious as he goes through the stages.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Lucas said, finally starting to calm down, still breathing somewhat heavily, most likely due to the adrenaline.
I help him off the ground and say, "I was gonna tell you later, like a lot later, but I guess this works."
"Yeah, I guess so." He chuckles, scratching the back of his neck in nervousness.
"She was trying to keep it hidden from basically everyone," Sammy comes in, "Only you, me, Taren, and Serena know about it now."
"Well I have a girlfriend who has superpowers, I'm cool with that. Well, I will be when I stop shaking." We all laugh at his comment.
"Well you better be or we're gonna have some issues." I say smiling. I lean in, wrap my arms around his neck, and give him a quick kiss before hugging him.
I look back at Sammy to find her doing the hand heart at us and going "Aww!"
Both Lucas and I chuckle and I put my head on his chest briefly. I then step away from him and tell him, "So now you know. But you can't tell anyone."
"Ok, got it." He replies.
"You promise? It's super important that no-one else finds out without her permission." Sammy asks.
"Yes, I promise." Lucas confirms.
"Ok good." Sammy steps closer to him and whispers, "Oh, and if you hurt her, we hurt you."
"We?" He repeats, his voice wavering as if he's possibly scared.
"Oh yeah, we've got an army." Sammy elaborates, her voice dangerously low.
As Lucas obviously looks worried, I step closer to him, lightly pushing Sammy away, saying, "Ok, we've scared my boyfriend enough today, let's give him a break." While giggling at Sammy's protectiveness.
I reach my hand for the vase to move it off the couch, but Lucas says, "Wait!" And I look at him confused. He goes on by saying, "Can you show me? Like without me, you know, freaking out?"
I glance at Sammy and she nods her head and shrugs her shoulders as if saying 'Sure, why not'. So I step back and concentrate on the vase again. As it starts to levitate, I hear Lucas behind me shout, "Holy shit that's cool!"
I set it down on the table and motion for him to sit on the couch, and he does as he's told.
I look at Sammy and ask, "So wanna continue with my practice? Or should we all just hang out and watch a movie or something?"
