"And do not do something stupid please" Mom said as I fixed my tie.

"Mom, its a dinner, what can I possibly do?" I said.

"I'm nervous enough and you're just making it worse" I said and observed my outfit once more. She sighed and walked closer to me.

"I'm sorry, I guess I'm nervous too" She said.

"You've never done this, I'm so worried that you mig-

"Mom mom mom....calm down, its alright. A-And its not like I'm doing all this for you dad and Ava, I'm doing this because I really like Valerie" I said, hoping she wouldn't see through my lies.

"You didn't even have to come here" I said.

When I told her that Valerie's parents have invited me over dinner, she freaked out and drove here and kept instructing me things.

"And if I wouldn't have, you would've gone there with a red tie looking like a joker" She said and I rolled my eyes.

"But Justin, do her parents know about Eve?" She asked.

"I-I don't know, I don't think she told them" I said.

"Oh, but they need to know sometime or-

"Mom its not like I'm getting married! Its just a dinner!" I said and stuffed my phone in my pocket.

"Okay okay, have fun" She said and I smiled.

"Yeah" I said and got out of the house and sat in my car. I huffed loudly and started driving.

The truth is I'm more nervous than mom is. I've never been to a dinner with the girl's parents since Eve's died when she was a kid, I never had to face that situation. This is new to me.

I just hope I don't get an attack there.

When I reached her house, I parked my car and walked to the door and rung the doorbell.

I kept fixing my suit and taking deep breaths to calm myself. When the door opened, I saw Valerie dressed in a long black gown and she smiled widely at me. And before I could even smile back, she threw her arms around and pressed her lips against mine making me smile in the kiss anyways.

My body relaxed at the touch and I felt the nervous knot in my stomach go away.

"Well, that was a nice 'Hi'" I said after we pulled out and she chuckled.

"Lets go in, they're waiting for you" She said and grabbed my hand and started walking me inside her house.

"They? And you weren't?" I said and she looked at me.

"If I wasn't I wouldn't have pounced on you like that" She said and I chuckled.

"You look beautiful" I said and she smiled.

After that night at my place, we had grown closer, very close and I was more comfortable with her now.

"But Valerie, I've never done this before, I'm kinda nervous" I said after I stopped her.

"Oh come on, its just my parents, they aren't going to eat you up" She said.

"But what do we talk about?" I asked.

"They'll just keep asking you questions and you just have to answer that" She said.

"That's it?"

"Mhm"

She lead me into the dinning room where her parents were already at the dinner table and they smiled when they saw me.

"Mr. Bieber, there you are" Mr. Hill said and came ahead to greet me.
