Valerie
"Thank you" I mumbled before grabbing the bag and walking out of Barney's. Mom said that I should go shopping, maybe that would distract me. But it only reminded me of the fun me and Justin had whenever we went shopping together.
But I spent the whole month locked in the house, I decided it was time for me to step out because staying locked in my room and crying all day while reading his poems isn't going to make him come back to me. I walked down the streets, in search of a coffee shop.
The wind was cold and I tried to wrap the coat around me tighter. I finally found a cafe after walking for a while. I was about to go in but I stopped in my tracks.
Through the huge glass wall that let you see the inside of the cafe, I saw Justin sitting at the table alone, staring at his cup.
I almost gasped when he turned his head and saw me looking at him. My feet wanted me to run away but I stayed just to see what he does.
We kept staring at each other for a good minute before he went back to looking at his cup like he never saw me.
Nevertheless, I stood there watching him. I hadn't seen him for a month and I miss him.
He never looked back again, the pit in my stomach grew deeper. My feet were now heavy and took slow steps and I decided to walk away, not caring about coffee anymore.
I wish I was good at feeling less. I held my tears back but they still burned my already swollen eyes.
"Valerie!" Great, now I'm starting to hear him call my name.
"Valerie wait!" I heard again. I shook my head and kept walking.
"Stop!" I gasped when someone grabbed my wrist and stopped me.
I turned around to see Justin breathing heavy.
So he was really trying to stop me....
I didn't know what to say so I just licked my lips.
"I-I thought I was just hearing things, I didn't know you were...you...." I trailed off, explaining that I had no intentions of ignoring me.....like he just ignored me.
"I thought you'd come in...." He said and I looked up.
"Uh...yeah actually I was about to get some coffee, but then I didn't feel like" I said.
"D-Do you want to now?....With me" He said adding the 'with me' after a long pause in a low voice.
"N-No, I'm good" I said.
"Please?" He said, making it hard for me to control.
Say no.
"O-Okay" I mumbled.
I looked down when I felt his hand. He reached for the bags in my hand and took a hold of them himself making me let go of them. He then stepped aside signalling me to walk first.
I walked, his footsteps followed mine and assured me he was still there. I walked inside the cafe and sat down where I saw him sitting earlier.
He sat down across me and the waitress approached our table.
I glanced through the menu, not being able to decide what I want.
My eyes absent mindedly looked up just to meet his. They were looking at me intently and almost froze me with their intimidating gaze.
"Ma'am what would you like to have?" The waitress snapped me out but I was still captivated but those espresso eyes looking all over my face.
"I'll have...a-an espresso" I finally managed to speak.
