Riley's POV.Damon and I were on the dance floor. He was dancing and I was, well, moving my body around. He was a great dancer and I was just watching him move like he had no bones. I, on the other hand, had three left feet, not even two. I couldn't dance at all. Not even the simplest moves, my body just couldn't move in sync with the music.
"Want a drink?" Damon asked me, over the music, noticing that I wasn't really into the dancing thing.
"Sure! I'm really thirsty from all the swaying I've been doing," I told him sarcasm evident in my tone.
"Yeah you're really good at that!" He laughed as he poured me a drink.
I hit his arm playfully. We were really getting along, better than before and that date didn't seem so bad after all. He was so funny and full of life. The world sure had a habit of changing such peole, but not him.
So far, the night was going well.
"So about tomorrow?" I could see his eyes flicker even through the dim lighting.
"Yeah..."
This is the moment he tells me he finds me completely boring and cancels.
"I can't wait you know?"
Thank God.
" Wear some comfortable shoes,"
Comfortable shoes meant we would have continuous use of our feet. I thought about how terribly unfit I was and hoped I would embarrass myself too much.
"Sounds goo-"
"Damon! Damon! I need your help Damon!"
Some drunk blonde bimbo was throwing herself all over Damon.
"I need your help!"
"Emma? What is wrong with you? I told you not to bother me!"
He tried to keep his voice down so I couldn't hear him but he wasn't so great at it.
"But I need you! You're the only one who can help me! You're always the only one who can help me! Please!"
She was dressed as the solar system and the cotume looked really good. By the way she was begging Damon and nearly crying, I felt bad for her.
"I'm sorry Riley, lemme go see what she needs. I'll be right back!"
He left after I gave him an Ok nod. I still wondered who that girl was and why she said that he was the only one who could help her.
I realized that I was now alone, at a party full of drunk hormonal college students.
But nothing could go wrong right?
Right.
My phone vibrated in my pocket and I was so relieved because I had something to occupy me.
K- This party sucks :(
The world just can't let me go one night without Kai Ryder!
R- Why don't you just leave?
K- Naah! I'm the life of the party so if I left so would the rest of you and I wouldn't want to ruin your Friday nights.
How modest!
R- Where's Melanie?
K- I ditched her! She's gonna be so mad.
I suddenly remembered Maddy's story and I didn't want to talk to him anymore.
R- Bye Kai.
