Surprisingly enough Rob didn't give us any more trouble. He tried to, but he set foot in Wicked World once, the guys threw him out and ever since then they kept an eye out on him. Jessica filed divorce three weeks after the fight.
Emily studied harder than ever and took the GED in May. She wanted to apply to college really bad so she could start it in fall. She tried to get time for everything: improving her guitar and drawing skills, work a little and spend time with me. I promised if she scored above 175 points in every test I'd move in with her. She claimed I was quite unfair but I knew she secretly studied even harder. I knew that how the points mattered: she needed the extra credits as well. I didn't go hard on her only because she needed the credits but I knew what she was capable of and I also knew how to motivate her.
On the day of the GED I wished her good luck when she got on her way but she was grumpy, she didn't say a word, she just tried to study, even in the last minute. I was still working when she finished, she just dropped herself on the barstool and laid her head on the counter. I ruffled her hair.
"Can I get you anything?"
"I wanna forget about everything." she mumbled.
"Everything?" I chuckled.
"Everything that happened today."
"Was it that bad?"
"I don't know." she looked at me "Half-way through I freaked out a little bit. I got stressed, I mean I suddenly remembered what I could lose. I didn't freeze or anything, I just... Don't know."
"Don't worry, love, I believe in you." I opened a beer for her "So, when do the results come in?"
"I don't know, somewhere between 3 and 24 hours. Well, an hour passed already, so..."
"Relax, okay? You're not losing anything."
"When are you finishing?"
"As soon as... ugh, who the fuck changes me today?"
"Language, young lady!" she chuckled.
"Well, I sure feel younger by your side." I smiled as I took her hand.
"Yeah?"
"Mm-hmm."
"And what else do you feel when I'm around?"
"No-no, that's a secret."
"Well, do you know what I feel when I look at you?"
"What?"
"Madness in my pants."
"I should've known." I rolled my eyes "Keep it in your pants for now."
"You know, your eyes are gonna fall out some day."
"I don't care."
"Aw, and you wouldn't miss this face?" she pointed at herself and pouted.
"Oh, yeah, you're right. Sometimes I'd rather be deaf." I grinned.
"Come on, be nice to me! I had a rough day!"
"You call this a rough day?" I chuckled "You haven't even started college yet! Oh, and you may call working what you do, but that's nowhere to it, love!"
"I'm gonna get you now!" she jumped off of the barstool and got behind the counter.
As she hugged me from behind she held me tight. She made me laugh, but I knew it wasn't a wise step.
"Baby, don't!" I laughed "You know what Ally said about this."
"Oh, come on!" she kissed my neck.
"No, stop it!"
