Kai and Daniel were sitting on a table across the pool and hadn't stopped glaring me and Simon. It's been like that for almost four hours, geez. As for the rest of our guests they were pretty excited and maybe a bit too cheerfull. I didn't pay much attention to them, truth be told I was more or less expectinng either of the boys to leave or come to our side and play the role of a happy person upon hearing such spectacular news. Well, so long as they didn't cause a ruckus I was fine. Simon was flirting around with some of the girls around us but nothing to worry about, it was the casual flirt any guy would give a girl, perhaps he teased them a bit too much but they didn't seem to mind. The males had taken a liking to him too even some of them were not really happy with the announcement of our engagement. As for our parents... they were just chatting with each other and occasionally looking around to make sure things were going smoothly. I excused myself and went on their side quickly.
- Regina, sweetie I think we should bring out the cake. Mother said, I agreed and so my father told the servants to bring out the cake for my birthday. It was a huge cake of vanilla and strawberries along with a long blue line that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY REGINA KINGSTAR". I was excited, the cake was my parents choice, so was most of the decor, I was busy making preparations for my final announcement. One that would shock everyone, even my parents. I waited until the sung the usual birthday song and after I blew the candles I decided to reveal my last suprise for the evening.
- Everyone, may I have your attention for a moment? I asked and everyone looked at me curious.
- What is it darling? Simon asked me and I simply smiled. I went in the center and looked everyone gently.
- Since you all know that our latest plan for saving animals has been going well I want to inform you that I will begin a chain of animal shelters all around the world, for that to happen I have decided to leave school for a while though I will occasionaly return to take tests and exams as well as to see all of you and how you do. I said and that made everyone queit.
- Regina, what are you talking about?! Father said after coming back to his senses.
- Father, you once told me that you began your own journey when you were my age, I believe I am ready to do the same. You, mother and everyone around me taught me a lot of things for which I am truly gratefull but I need to face this world on my own. I think this is the best way for me to begin this trip. Will you support me? Will you stand by my side as friends and family? I asked and they seemed to be in loss for a moment. My classmates however soon regained their senses and agreed to support me, soon enought my parents did as well. I felt so happy to hear that, I hugged them and for the first time in a very long while, I felt that my caged heart was allowed to do as it pleased for once.
