The day of the party has arrived. I am in my bedroom right now and I'm gazing my reflection on a large floor mirror. I nearly failed to recognize myself. My hair have become curly and are hung in a high ponytail, my eyes are attracking my attention once I look at my face, the make up had that purpose after all. Among the many dresses that I had I chose one that had a very certain meaning, it was the dress Daniel gave me as a gift last year. It was a short dark blue dress that became brighter as it ended, there was a tiny ribbon in the back that decorated the dress though since my hair were long it didn't really matter. I wore a pair of high heels in the color of light blue. I was satisfied until I realized that I also had to wear some accesories, as I went to my dressing table I took out a large wooden box with flowers carved on it and opened it. It contained a large amount of jewelry and to be honest, it sometimes gave me a headache. I brashed them a bit and ended up in a pair of diamont earings that had a matching necklace as well and a silver bracelet that my father gave me this morning as a gift. I carefully close the box and place it back where I found it. With a last look at the mirror I turn towards the door, before opening it I take a deep breath and leave the room. I walk down the large marble stairs entering the welcoming room and from there I go straight to the backgarden where the celebration is being held. The moment I am seen almost everyone comes to congratulate me and wish me the best. Of course there are two people that simply keep a distance looking at me with confusion.(
(Flashback )
- Well Regina is it true? Did you really pretended to be the fiancee of a mafia boss right after you broke up with me? Daniel asked.
- So now you are searching my past?
- Don't try to avoid the question Regina, answer Daniel's question. Kai said bluntly.
- Yes, I did. It was for my family's sake and for the world. Not to mention a challenge for my acting skills.
- If that is true then why bother accepting my feelings? Why kiss me?
- And why would you break up with me?
- Both of you stop it! I wont answer another silly question of yours so just drop it!
- No Regina. We will not. You toyed with us but now THIS is going to turn the tables. Why did you go through all the trouble of fooling us and make us suffer? Kai asked.
- I...I... I can't tell you.
- Why not? Daniel insisted.
- Because that's what I want! I don't want to tell you! Is there a problem with that?
- Yes in fact there is! Kai shouted at me.
- THEN DEAL WITH IT! I said and left furious and with my heart beating so fast I thought I needed to go to the hopsital.
(End of Flashback)
I couldn't believe I lost my cool back then. No one had ever managed to do this. As I walked I made sure everything was in perfect condition.
- Hey there, love. A familiar voice said, I closed my eyes for a moment and wished that he would die the moment I looked back. Too bad it didn't come true so instead I smiled.
- I see that you made it, Simon.
- I wouldn't miss it. Besides I am one of the main reasons this party is held.
- Indeed. Won't you wish me Happy Birthday? It's also the other reason for this celebration. I said trying to sound teasing. It worked since he laughed and looked at me excited.
- Well you got me. Happy Birthday Regina. I hope I manage to give you at least one gift straight from the heart. He said and came closer, he placed one hand on my face and the other on my waist. He pulled me closer staring deep in my eyes. His eyes were like that of a demon, they were lustfull and held an insanity that was directed to me. Suddenly a hand grapped and pulled me away from Simon, at the same time a persons back came in front of me. I looked up and saw Daniel standing between Simon and me. Behind me Kai was holding my arm and both of them were glaring Simon. I felt my heart race as I looked at them both carefully. Up to this point I had never noticed how charming both of them were. Kai gave the air of a knight in shining armor while Daniel had the charm of an adult and the strenght of a bear. They were also handsome when talking about outside appearance. I felt a small blush rising and so I looked down for a moment trying to control myself.
- Who the hell are you? Daniel asked coldly. At that moment I managed to free myself from Kai's hold and hurry to Simons side. I really didn't wish to say it but since the situation came to this I didn't have a choice.
- This is Simon, he is my fiancee. The celebration is to also celebrate our succesfull engagement. I answered and almost everyone around us, Daniel and Kai included, froze in shock. I placed a fake smile on my face and looked at Simon in hopes that he would take a hint. And thankfully he did.
- I don't blame them for acting so protective, love. They didn't know as I can tell.
- It IS the suprise I wanted to say but I guess it's meanigless now, isn't it?
- Aw don't be so sad, Regina. You still managed to suprise them. Simon said and smiled at me shamelesly. I swear to God, one of this days he's going to get a nice butt kicking all for himself. For now though I would go one leading these puppets to the road I had created for them.
