I was dining with my relatives who had gathered to celebrate my pregnancy, I was faking every minute of my joy, I knew what most of them thought of me. The spoiled daughter of the richest member of the family who became a trump. Most of my cousins were glaring at me but still held a smile to at least keep the happy atmosphere.
- I can't believe you got hitched first Regina, you're so young, it seems like a fairytale. An aunt of mine said with a large grin, I could see her clear disgust but I knew just what to do.
- Oh, age doesn't really matter. I assure you that my marriage and my divorce were nothing more than an act to gain more power and give my mother and sister a boost.
- Only your mother and sister? It seems like you are being too generous, despite the reputation you were given. Another female said as she looked at me with destain.
- Oh, are you so helpless that you would require my help? I never knew you needed such support. I said and she glared at me.
- For your information I have plently of suitors.
- Certainly, our family is one of the most powerfull ones but I didn't ask you about suitors, what I meant was your econimical incapability due to bad managment. I stated coldly as Bella looked at me and snicker, the female in question had competed against me many times and had lost both when it came down to charm but also in wealth, this was something common in this family, everyone was looking out for his own wealth and well being and I had managed to surpass all of my relatives, something that caused their complete and absoloute hatred. Their rage was clear and their wish to discover my plan was obvious as well, thankfully my father, who in the past had done everything to outsmart and defeat the rest of his brothers and sisters had taught me everything that could keep me safe and thanks to my craftiness and calculative nature I had managed to guard myself and benefit those I wanted to benefit.
- How dare you?!
- Jackie, sit down at once. My mother said coldly, she looked at her enraged but because she was a guest here and was also younger and less wise she didn't obey.
- How can you allow her to be this arrogant and insolent when she is carrying a child that wont even have a father.
- But he will have a step father. I announced and everyone looked at me surprised. They weren't expecting this, one thing I could bet.
- Are you saying that you are interested in another marriage.
- Of course, in fact there are two suitors I am already considering perfect to perform the duty of a good and caring husband.
- You can't be serious!!! A man shouted from the other side of the table and I smiled.
- What I want is simple. I want my baby to have the ideal life and the wealth it deserves as a Kingstar, I also want to be safe from things that can eventually be potential threats, aside from my little chain of buisness I plan on expanding my influence and create more allies and gain more power for the sake of protecting those who are in my favor. - Well, since this has been cleared now I suggest we move to our dessert. My mother said and rang a small bell the signaled the servants to come and take the plates to bring new ones along with our dessert.
After this small fight, the night went by smoothly and by the time our little gathering was over I was already in my room with the excuse that I was feeling bad because of my condition. In all honesty, I was afraid that my baby was in danger because of them. Simon and Elena were utterly destroyed and now the only thing that could harm me was them. I decided to visit Bella's room, I really needed someone to talk to. To my surprise she was coming to my room as well and we met halfway.
- And we're not even twins.
- I can't imagine that. I said and we laughed, she came to my room and we talked, I have to admit, it was the first time I was doing something like that, speak so freely with another female. The fact that Bella was my sister made it easier for me to explain my feelings and in turn she told me hers. We exchanged opinions and had a small catfight but nothing worth noting, it was a new feeling for both of us. To act like sisters, despite being related by blood she and I had never, ever spoken freely to each other, let alone spend time together as a family.
- I can't wait to meet the little monkey.
- Monkey?
- He or she might have our fathers large ears, he always reminded of a monkey for some reason.
- Or it might have our mothers big eyes, they are beautifull and proud no matter how many years go by.
- True, the only time she cracked was in our father funeral but she got over it quickly.
- Being in the family we are, she can't afford to show weakness, I swear it's like we're hunted by wolves.

- Green with envy. I said we burst out laughing.
- Okay... that one you said to Jackie tonight, it was awesome. She is far too arrogant, even for our standarts.
- Well, she better follow my example and lay off. Otherwise she's up for trouble. I replied and she nodded in agreement.
- Hey, let's have a sleepover. Just the two of us.
- Seriously? I asked and raised an eyebrow.
- Yeah, I never had a sleepover before.
- Well, neither have I but... aren't we a bit old for that?
- As if! My fist prom as a second year student is three months away and so is yours. She said and I realised that even though I had indeed pass all the exams and aced the finals sooner than everyone else thanks to my parents, I still had my senior prom and that meant one thing... I had to find a date!!!!
