I woke up with Daniel by my side, we both wore clothes so I was sure nothing happened, thankfully. I recalled that we did fall on bed but because I was feeling tired I fell asleep while he was kissing me. He had locked the door and no matter what he kept saying he loved me, he reminded me of Kai for some reason. Kai used to say that the moment I told him I was going to become his girlfriend. It was a relationship that ended very quick. Truth be told... I had regrets for doing something like that. I looked at Daniels face, he seemed so peacefull sleeping like that. I felt the urge to kiss his forehead, so I did it.
- I'm sorry for everything I did. I whispered and felt a large weight dissapear from the deepest part of my soul. Suddenly a hand touched my back and pulled me closer, Daniels eyes opened and he smiled at me.
- I knew you were pretending.
- I was not pretending, back then I had decided that you meant nothing to me. I believed it and I acted accordingly. Emotions are things that pass by quickly, that's why I was afraid.
- Afraid? Afraid of what? He asked me sitting up, he stared at my eyes for a long time, I averted his gaze and stood up. I went to my window and looked outside, it was still raining and it was dark, I didn't care if it was due to the time or due to the weather...
- I was afraid of regaining emotions that passed by, love... friendship... regret. I didn't want them, I still don't. I am a Kingstar, meaning that I must answer to the expectations of my family and my supporters, I can't have a personal opinion nor desires of my own. It doesn't fit the perfect image that is demanded.
- Is this what it was all about? Your image? He asked and he seemed annoyed.
- It's not as simple as you think, this image determeneted the fate of my family, this... secret that we have, it's something that would destroy all that my family built, behind perfection you can hide anything and if you are capable to keep it hidden then it's even better. That's why I must be perfect, flawless... it's the only thing I can do... the only thing I must do. I said and I couldn't help it, I left a tear escape me, it rolled down my cheek and fell to the ground as I struggled to get myself together.
- Regina... what have they done to you?
- It doesn't matter anymore. Nothing can change now. I said and he came closer while at the same time I run off, I unlocked the door and opened up. I looked at him, I didn't have to say it out loud, he already knew that I wanted him to leave. He didn't respond, his face was blank, he left and I closed the door again, this time I did the only thing I could think of. I prayed to God. Suddenly I heard a knock, I didn't bother asking, there was one person that would come here at such a time. The door opened and I saw Simon coming in with a large smile.
- I have a little suprise for you. He said and I noticed he was hiding something behind his back. I smiled and looked at him in the eye.
- You have my attention. What is it? I asked and he brought a tiny black box out. He kneeled down and opened the box, in it there was a diamond ring that reminded me of a flower. I was shocked as I slowly realized the meaning of his action.
- Regina Kingstar, will you marry me? He asked and I didn't know if I should say no or yes. However soon enough I recalled who I was and what my purpose was.
- I do. I said with a fake smile, my voice knew how to appear gentle and sweet so it was a piece of cake to make him fall for it. I took a good glimpse of the ring as he placed on my finger, it must have been a very expensive one, it looked expensive. Soon I found out that with this my fate was sealed for good, if there was a road leading to the past before, now this road was blocked for good. This ring was proof of my fate as a Kingstar.
