Broken Bond Ch.10: A Dangerous Game/ Pg.1

Dan gently shakes Elias “Elias, wake up, little brother come on!” Elias makes a mumbling sound as he slowly gets up “Mmm…what is it Dan?” Dan looks at his little brother “it’s school time Elias!” Elias covers his face with a pillow “I don’t want to go, school is boring!” Dan laughs “come on it’s not that bad?” Elias growls “I hate it so much.”

Dan picks up Elias’ mattress and throws him off it making Elias fall on his face “grr…” Elias gets up and stands on his feet then grabs his phone and notices it’s Saturday “Wait a minute!” Dan laughs and quickly runs “Get back here!” Elias chases after his brother. “you, lied to me Dan!”

“I wanted to wake you up!” Dan dashes to the door and runs out “come catch me Elias!” Elias runs out of the room and chases Dan “oh I will catch you!” he pounces on Dan and tackles him making them both roll around on the floor til they come to a stop and bump into the sofa “caught you Dan!” Elias pins him down and growls “ah don’t hurt me little brother please!”

Elias bites his brother’s ears and growls playfully. Dan laughs as his ears get bit by Elias then yelps loudly and playfully as they play around until their mother steps out of her room “Boys!” Elias and Dan yelp and jump as they see their mother tapping her foot not amused by their actions.

“what did I tell you two about waking up at 3 in the morning and messing around?” they droop their ears “it was Dan’s fault!” Elias points at Dan “he woke me up and told me that it was time for school!” Cristal looks at her sons and sighs softly “Dan, why did you wake your brother up when he was sleeping, you know school isn’t until Monday.” Dan whimpers “I wanted Elias to help me surprise dad, since it’s his birthday today we wanted to give him a early birthday surprise.”

Cristal smiles softly “aww boys I know you love your dad so much, but he won’t be back til 7 in the morning.” Dan whimpers louder “I want dad here now.” Cristal sighs “sweetie, you know your dad works nights, even if your father did come through that door he’d be very…"

Suddenly the front doors open and their father runs in and quickly locks the door “honey?!” Jack suddenly turns around and looks at his wife and kids “We have to go, they’re coming!” they look at him in fright “w…whose coming?” Cristal says “there’s no time for questions, we have to hurry and get out of our house, Now!”

Jack draws his gun and quickly runs to his family “Move it Now, I’m not joking!” they listen to him and quickly begin to run to the back of the house  “Jack tell me what’s going on I’m your wife for crying out loud!” suddenly a Molotov is thrown into the back window and makes contact with the tiled floor and a roar of flames is heard making them scream in horror.

“Mommy!” Jack gets separated from them “Run, Get out of here!” Cristal looks at her husband “I’m not leaving without you!” Jack growls “Get out of here its…” suddenly Jack gets grabbed and pinned to the wall by a hooded figure and growls.

Cristal gasps and runs with Elias and Dan “what about dad?” Cristal holds their hands “he’ll  meet us in the garage, we need to get to safety!” while they run Elias and Dan hear a window break and yelp in shock as they see their mother quickly stop and look at them with tears in her eyes “mommy needs you both to hide and don’t come out no matter what You hear?”
