Captain Mack looks at everyone in surprise and smiles "wow guys this is the best surprise ever I didn't know you guys would do something like this for me?!" Everyone laughs "well captain Mack we wanted to do this for you cause of all the stuff we've been through together."
Mack smiles "really guys oh what am I saying how's about we get this party started!" Everyone cheers and begin to party at the mess hall listening to some techno music as the Marines dance with some of the female Marines. Elias and jacob Hang out with some of the Marines, and go against them in the arm wrestling competition Elias almost wins, but is beaten by one of the privates. Elias and Jacob begin laughing with the marines after losing.
The party goes on for a long time then elias is approached by the general who then tells him to come with him Elias nods then looks at Jacob "I'll be right back Jacob" Elias walks with the general "Sgt Mendes is it ?" Elias nods " yes sir! " the general looks at him "so general what is it you need from me?"
"oh one of our men named Daniel Hunter wanted me to get you!" Elias looks at the general in question "for what general?" The general walks into a room with elias "take a seat Sgt Mendes, colonel hunter will be in shortly." Elias takes a seat and after a few minutes of waiting Colonel Hunter walks in "Sgt Mendes it's good to see you again!" Elias nods then shakes hunter's hand "good to see you too Colonel!"
Hunter nods "ok Sgt Mendes you're here for a reason lets get to it shall we?" Elias sits up straight, and gives colonel hunter his full attention then sees the general go to stand next to colonel hunter "ok Sgt Mendes the reason why you're here is cause we've got a special assignment for you!" Elias looks at colonel Hunter, and General Brooke in surprise "a..a..special assignment!" General Brooke nods "yes sir a special assignment it took us a while to get clearance for the special assignment, but we were patient, and now this special assignment is ready for action!"
Elias nods and speaks in a curious tone "sir yes sir!" General Brooke hears a knock On the door, and goes to check who it is as soon as He opens the door, he sees a female looking at her notes "may I help you ma'am" he asks in a soft tone.
The female looks up at him "why hello there General Brooke, I'm the contact that was sent to give your soldier all the details for his mission." The General nods "ahh yes come in miss um?" She giggles "my name is Jane haul sir!" Jane walks into the room then see's Elias sitting on a chair. she then looks at colonel hunter, and signals him to introduce her to Elias.
"Sgt Mendes we'd like you to meet your contact for this special assignment, Miss Jane haul she's the one that helped us with getting full clearance of this assignment and Is gonna be the one giving you all the details for her side, and then we'll give all the details in our side!"
Elias nods, then sees Jane stand in front of him "hello there, Sgt Mendes my name is agent haul, but feel free to call me by my name Jane. I work for a top secret service in the U.S"
Jane looks at Elias" I'm here to give you all the things for this special assignment that is gonna make a big difference for your career!"
Elias looks at Jane in interest "really it is?" Jane nods then looks at Colonel Hunter signaling him to tell Elias about the mission . "Sgt. Mendes the mission objective is to find and capture a high value target you're not allowed to kill him if you do kill him I promise you your rep, job, and retirement benefits will go down the drain, but if you do your mission as planned it will have a great effect on your career"
"especially once you've finished your service with us, maybe you'd look forward to working with the government still and we know just the place for a good soldier like yourself Sgt Mendes!" Elias looks at Jane "wait so this mission is a solo mission for me only?" The General nods "yes sir Sgt Mendes a solo mission for you it'll be very different from any other mission you've ever had in your service with us!" Elias looks at them in surprise "wow I don't know what to say sir this is my first special assignment I've ever had!"
General Brooke puts his hand on Elias's shoulder "we think you're ready, after all you've been through in this war against the Pakistanis you've showed us you've got potential!" Elias looks at General Brooke "we know you won't let us down you're the best Sgt we've ever had even though there were others in the past, but they aren't as special as you Sgt Mendes!"
Elias nods "so when will this mission take place?" The general answers in a calm tone "this mission is not an asap mission just something for you to look forward to in the future!"
(present day)
Elias finishes telling his story to joy and smiles "that's enough for now Joy it's late and we need to sleep, I'll tell you more of my story another time." Joy nods "aww ok elias!" Joy kisses Elias's nose then covers herself in her blankets, and closes her eyes sleeping peacefully while snoring softly.
Elias gets off Joy's bed and goes to the sliding glass door that opens to a balcony. where he decides to step out and sit on one of the chairs for a while so he could look up at the stars and think for a bit.
"oh Joy I'm never gonna leave you, I will always be here for you no matter what, but I'm here in LA for a reason and that is something I need to keep to myself for my sake."
He hears his phone ring then answers it "yes this is agent Mendes I've made it into L.A."
