jaehwan's friend waits for him just outside the apartment building. he is jaehwan's closest friend.

sanghyuk, is his name. he is younger than jaehwan but they get along just fine.

jaehwan rushes outside of the building and wraps his arms around his taller friend.

the two met each other in the first grade. i still remember exactly how it happened.

jaehwan was struggling to tie his shoelaces and sanghyuk went over and helped him. in the process, somehow jaehwan hit him in the face.

the two became the best of friends instantly. it was one of the more entertaining moments of jaehwan's life.

i get out of my seated position and follow the pair as they make their way down the street.

two blocks down is where jaehwan will get hit by a car. i always hate when i have to stop car accidents.

it hurts, a lot.

there is a price to the magic which we possess. the bigger amount of magic used means there will be more pain as payment.

i never sleep. that is a constant payment for the small amounts of magic which i tend to use daily.

such as lighting the candles with the click of my fingers and rendering that man unconscious with one of the black out patches.

i'll probably have severe back pain for at least one minute for what i am about to do.

yes it's not that long but it'll feel as though my back has been torn in half. it's not a nice feeling.

i see the traffic lights, there are only a few paces ahead. i run ahead of jaehwan and sanghyuk who are chatting away to each other, completely oblivious as to what is about to happen.

i look over at the traffic light and watch as the light switches to yellow, or orange. it looks like a mixture of both and it has always confused me as to what colour it actually is.

now is not the time to be focusing on the colour of a traffic light.

i can hear the screeching of the angry tyres speeding towards the lights.

i look at the crossing to see jaehwan is a few paces in front of his friend. sanghyuk just happened to drop his wallet at the start of the crossing.

his shield probably did that to rely him. i can sense that he is in a tree on the other side of the crossing.

i see the car speed up to jaehwan. just as he notices and freezes in his spot, i clasp my hands together and time pauses.

the car is only a few millimetres away from connecting with jaehwan. that is a little too close for my liking but hey, the kid is still alive is he not.

i jump off the roof and walk over to him. i examine the car and try to think of what i can do to make this seem natural.

i could move jaehwan out of the way but he would never believe that happened naturally.

i look at the driver of the vehicle and see he is holding his phone in front of his vision with only one hand on the wheel.

i walk over to the drivers side of the car and open the door. i turn the steering wheel so the car will make a sharp right.

i lean back out of the car and close the door. i walk around to the bonnet and place two hands firmly on it before pushing the car backwards a few paces.

i need to give it enough room to be able to turn before hitting jaehwan.

the man won't crash. he will just turn right when he wanted to go straight. it'll cause him little inconvenience to save jaehwan's life.
